Actor Channing Tatum says he’s a fat and happy dad since welcoming daughter Everly with his wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum eight months ago.
The 33-year-old appeared on Ellen DeGeneres’ US chat show on Thursday, where he discussed the perks of being a new dad.
Tatum couldn’t be more thrilled with life, but says he’s also packed on a few pounds since the birth.
After Channing entered the studio dancing, Ellen mused about his role in 2012 stripper comedy Magic Mike: "Now what happens ... whenever you dance, we think you’re going to take your clothes off."
"You definitely don’t want that right now," Channing laughed. "Right now, what me and my wife like to call it - I am very fappy. I’m very fat and happy right now. I’ve been working for two straight years and now it’s some really needed downtime."
Tatum also gushed over his little girl, saying, "She's saying, 'Da, da, da, da, da.' I don't think she knows exactly what it means just yet, but it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter at all."
He said Everly is even showing early signs of following in her parents’ dancer footsteps.
"She will only fall asleep to really good music,’’ he said, adding that she seems to be a fan of Drake. ‘‘She might be conceited, I’m not sure ... Prince’s 'The Most Beautiful Girl in the World' - she loves falling asleep to that,’’ he mused.
And how does he feel about losing his 'Sexiest Man Alive' title to Adam Levine? Tatum said, "I think the only thing that you really pass on is the ability for your friends to just make complete fun of you for the rest of your life."
Despite his time off, Tatum won’t have too much time to relax: this year he’s set to star in Bennett Miller's drama Foxcatcher, animated movie The Book of Life, Wachowski brothers’ action adventure Jupiter Ascending, and action comedy sequel to 22 Jump Street with Jonah Hill.
