While most of the world had no idea that Kanye West and Brad Pitt were pals, a source says that the pair have been friendly for quite some time.
Fans are accustomed to seeing footage of Kanye at his weekly Sunday service in LA, but it was a video of Brad Pitt dropping by the event on September 1 that set tongues wagging about the surprise friendship.
Videos taken by people present at the service posted videos and photos on social media of the pair greeting one another. The pair have kept their friendship low key, and the secret is now out.
"Kanye and Brad have been friendly for a while. There's definitely a common respect between the two of them," the source told PEOPLE. "Kanye has always been a big fan of Brad."
The actor, 55, and musician, 42, have ten children between them.
Kanye shares North, 6, Saint, 3, Chicago, 18 months, and Psalm, 3 months with wife Kim Kardashian West, and Brad has Maddox, 18, Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 13, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 11, with ex-wife Angelina Jolie.

Of Brad's attendance at the service, the source said, "Kanye was so happy that Brad came. He has wanted to share that with Brad for a while."
They also say that Kanye's favourite topic of conversation is his children and parenting in general.
"They talk about their differences and are extremely respectful when they do," said the source. "They have fatherhood in common, and to Kanye, that's huge. Kanye will talk to anyone who has kids. He's constantly seeking advice, giving advice, comparing notes."
The rapper looks set to release a new album on September 29, with Kim posting a somewhat cryptic photo recently.
With the release date, likely tracklist and title Jesus Is King now known to all, it remains to be seen if we'll ever learn the significance of a bible opened to Psalm 57:6, a flashlight and a jar of lemons.
