'Best thing that has ever happened to us': Cameron Diaz on parenthood

Cameron Diaz has opened up about life as a new mum to daughter, Raddix, sharing that it's the best thing that's ever happened to her and husband Benji Madden.

It's just amazing," a glowing Diaz said on Wednesday during an appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon."

"We're just so happy."

The first-time mama shared just how quickly her little one is growing, adding that she is developing in "leaps and bounds".

"She's not the same baby that she was yesterday," Diaz said. "Where was yesterday? Yesterday is literally gone and today is a new day, and tomorrow will be a new day that she's a completely different baby.

"It's so gratifying to see that growth and be a part of it. And just let her be her."

Diaz also laughed that "Baby Shark," and "Sesame Street" are now the soundtrack to her days. "We're just jamming out over there," she said. You go 'I'll never play that music for my child!' But then you watch their response! She's so taken by it."

And while the famous couple haven't released any photos of their daughter, she already takes after her mum.

"When we go on car drives, Benj will put on some Cuban ― Afro-Cuban music ―  and she is in her car seat and her little legs are kicking and I'm like, 'Yep, that's my girl!'" Diaz laughed.

The 47-year-old also shared how much Raddix adores her father.

"She looks at her daddy and just loves him. She thinks he's the bee's knees. It makes my heart just want to explode."

Diaz and Madden announced the birth of their daughter in January, noting that they wouldn't be sharing any pictures in order to protect her privacy.

"She is really really cute," the couple said. "Some would even say RAD."
