Kelly Clarkson is celebrating the birth of her first child, a daughter named River Rose Blackstock.
The Grammy winner announced the arrival of her daughter in a Saturday post on Twitter.
She says the baby arrived on June 12, and she and her husband and music manager Brandon Blackstock are "on cloud 9".
Clarkson is already stepmother to her husband's two children from a previous marriage - Savannah, 12, and Seth, 6.
"I really lucked out with the whole kids situation," Kelly said of her stepkids in a radio interview with Valentine in the Morning. "They're amazing."
River may not have to wait long for a sibling either - in the same radio interview she announced, "I kind of want to have two around the same age."
Clarkson married Blackstock in October 2013 after a year-long engagement. She is rumoured to be releasing a new album at the end of 2014.
River Rose is not the only notable arrival with that name in recent months - model Megan Gale also called her newborn River, naming her son after her mother's maiden name.
