Ashlee Simpson is proof breastfeeding struggles can happen to all mums - even the third time around.

The 36-year-old and husband actor/musician Evan Ross welcomed their son Ziggy Blu Ross in October and all appears to be going well so far - apart from feeding.

Despite having no apparent issues feeding daughter Jagger, five (who she shares with Ross) and son Bronx, 12 (with ex-husband Pete Wentz), the third time was not the charm for the singer.

While Ziggy had no issues with latching, Simpson has been left grappling with the bub vomiting 'after almost every feed', which shook the veteran mum's confidence.

Opening up about the issue on Instagram, she shared how it left her questioning herself

"I have loved breastfeeding my children. Ziggy latched right away and has been nursing like a champion from the start. It was going so well until I noticed how uncomfortable he was, crying and spitting up after almost every feed," she wrote.

"Luckily, he was still gaining weight but I was left feeling confused and guilty. Was it me? Could it be something I was eating? How do I soothe him? I really wanted to make him feel better without taking over-the-counter medication."

Explaining that she felt overwhelmed by the advice she read online, she said parenting apps with breastfeeding groups had helped her to feel less alone.

"Being able to hear honest advice and loving support really helped me know that I'm not alone. As a mom of three, each baby has been so different," she added.

Simpson announced Ziggy's birth In October, sharing a photo of the newborn with her and Ross' hands, captioning it 'Our sweet boy has arrived! I am over the MOON. We are so blessed!'
