Amy Schumer has posted a sweet tribute to her baby Gene on his first birthday, telling her son: "I'm really glad it was you."
The proud mum shared an adorable photo of the pair, adding "hbd."
Last month, the 38-year-old who married comedian Chris Fischer in 2018, told the world they had changed their bub's name.
"So do you guys know that Gene, our baby's name is officially changed?" she said in an episode of her podcast. "It's now Gene David Fischer. It was Gene Attell Fischer but we realised that we by accident named our son, 'genital.'
The mum, who suffered from Hyperemesis gravidarum during her pregnancy, has documented her first year of motherhood with her trademark wit and comedic flair.
On 6 May, 2019, little Gene was born just hours before the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed baby Archie.
"10:55 pm last night," she wrote on Instagram. "Our royal baby was born."
Schumer also delighted fans by sharing the true "glamour" of motherhood. "Milf alert" she captioned this stylish hospital snap.
The comedian's initiation into the world of "mummy shamers" was swift as she returned to work - apparently too early.
"Sending out love to the mums shaming me for doing standup last night!" she captured this bleary-eyed pumping shot.
FIve weeks post-partum, Schumer told her followers she was all about that hospital underwear with a hilarious and oh-so relatable post.
She aso shared the reality of that working-mum life with a heartfelt reflection about guilt, exhaustion and drive.
"Five months today and like all mums I love him so much it hurts," Schumer wrote. "I'm feeling strong and good and like I'm still a human being with interests and ambitions and goals I'm excited to reach. It's felt good to be back at work. I was so worried about it and was afraid to go back after he was three months old. A couple days I've cried from missing him. But it's mostly good to be back and the breaks energise me to be a better mom and appreciate our time even more. I have it a lot easier than many people but I wanted to share my experience."
And reminded mums it was OK to take your time losing the baby weight. "OK Simpson!" she wrote in a cheeky reference to Jessica Simpson's post-baby weight loss.
"Well I've lost 10 pounds and 100 dollars to my sister playing poker." #Norush.
In January, Schumer began sharing her journey with IVF in the hope of giving Gene a sibling.
Then came a sweet look at Gene's wobbly first steps.
As the pandemic forced the world into self-isolation, Schumer brought fans to tears as she and Gene visited "Grandpa", waving a sign outside his house.
"I really have had a beautiful experience having a baby," the mum told Oprah Winfrey during a television special in January. "You know, it's different for everybody. But I really have to recommend if you've got the resources to have a baby, have a baby. It's been so life-changing for me. And I really like the guy."
