George's nickname for the twins and their all-important first words - they're just some of the secrets Amal Clooney has shared in an interview about her life as a new mum and an international human rights lawyer.

"We've had some 'Mamas' and 'Dadas'," Amal tells Vogue of their babies, 10-month-old Ella and Alexander. "George was very careful to ensure that 'Mama' was the first word."

Despite having a chef, a nanny, and an assistant, Amal admits that balancing motherhood and her career is still a juggle. Quality time is a must, which includes no early work calls.

"Between six and eight in the morning we get to have them in our bed—I don't schedule any calls before eight," she says. "When I was nursing, it was much more complicated, because there are two. I had all manner of weird cushions and pillows and machines."

The interview also reveals Clooney's nickname for the twins - the knuckleheads - and that he has only recently been separated from the pair for the first time since their birth.  According to Amal, it's something that has "nagged" at the star more than he expected.

The 40-year-old also spoke of the #MeToo movement and her hopes for Ella's future.

"I think because of the brave women who have come forward to tell their stories, the future workplace will be safer for my daughter than it was for people of my generation," she says. "We're in a situation where a predator feels less safe and a professional woman feels more safe, and that's where we need to be."

Amal's Vogue cover story comes as child-care expert Connie Simpson also shared details of Ella and Alexander after "coming out of retirement" to help the famous parents.

"It was really funny because the little girl was such the essence of her mother and the little boy is the essence of his dad," Ms Simpson, whose celebrity client list includes Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel, told PEOPLE.

"It just kind of grew … you could see it manifesting every day you were with them," she said. "The look that George has in his movies, his son was showing that too and I just thought that was the cutest thing. They're all cute together."

As for Ella - she's all Amal. "She just has that daintiness and that beautiful glow like Amal," Ms Simpson said.
