Cancer Support forum

October 1, 2008

When I was diagnosed with cancer, I was lost, totally. I searched for forums trying to find some sort of support forum for women with breast cancer, and whilst there were some out there, I didn't feel right amongst them.

I had been a member of Essential Baby since 2002, when I fell pregnant with my fourth baby. I had a wonderful support network in there through my Due In Group, and subsequent Parents Group. If it wasn't for them, I think I would have gone insane some days.

Eventually there was a call to EB for a cancer support forum - and so it came to be. There weren't many of us in there to begin with (which is a good thing!) but over the past couple of years, it has grown. Not everyone is fighting cancer themselves, they may have a parent, a partner, a friend, or neighbour and are looking for some support, advice, guidance, or just a chat.

The Cancer Support forum has been really helpful to me, and many others, and I am really glad to have it. There is always someone who will come in and give whatever it is you need at the time, and they are a great bunch of ladies, who are always there for each other.

To chat with Nicole and other Essential Baby members, head to the Cancer Support Forum.
