Seven people - including a baby, toddler and child - have been injured after two golf buggies collided and rolled over at a Queensland holiday island on Thursday.

Paramedics were called to the corner of Front Street and Mango Tree Corner at Hamilton Island at 8.20am.

An eight-month-old baby suffered a fractured leg and facial injuries, while a three-year-old child sustained minor lacerations and bruising.

An 18-month-old toddler was going in and out of consciousness, a Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said.

A 40-year-old man and a 30-year-old person suffered fractured legs, while another male patient sustained a head laceration and chest injury.

A woman also suffered head injuries.

Five of the seven patients were in a serious condition.

A man who was not involved in the collision was treated by paramedics after he collapsed from witnessing the crash.

Two helicopters were on the scene and were expected to transport the patients to Townsville Hospital.

A third helicopter was on standby.
