A Melbourne mum has found Facebook fame after her video post on DIY baby wipes has gone viral.

Joy Ratima, a mum of three, said she makes her own wipes as the store-bought variety "a huge list of chemicals in them (and we use them to clean our precious baby bums)".

"I find this the best recipe and way to do them personally," Kiwi-born Ratima wrote.

"I have had heaps of people ask me to show them how to make them the way I do and although I felt like an egg filming this … and didn't really want to put it up here I thought I would so hopefully others can do the same."

The simple process takes less than five minutes and the ingredients are listed as Viva paper towels (with the roll cut in half), coconut oil, body wash, boiling water.

The video has been viewed more than 1.2 million times, and shared more than 16,000 times, in a week.
