A day in the life of a Mum – me and my son Max!

A typical day starts with the chit chatter and happy mumbling from Max when he wakes in his cot. He wakes up extremely full of life, happy and ready to go. He reminds us of the song Ollie sings, “I’m Awake Now, yes I’m Awake, I'm AWAKE”!

6.30am:  Our day starts out with a morning wash, nappy change, choosing outfit for that day and brushing our hair.

7.30am:  Maxi has his breakfast and it's play-time!  We usually read a book or he follows me around while I do chores and make breakfast for the grown-ups.

10.00am:  It’s morning tea and then we are in the car off to the park and then to the shops.

11.00am:  Max starts getting tired so we need to head home for his nap.

12.30pm:  Lunch time.

Afternoon:  Maxi usually helps me with chores, bringing in the washing, getting ready for dinner and he plays with daddy outside with the dog.

3.00pm:  Snack time then more playing with his toys. His favourite book at the moment is the ABC book of Machines. He loves his blocks, his baby Jaguar and his blankey.

5.30pm:  Dinner time.

6.00pm:  Bath time.

Night:  Max usually helps me cook dinner – well, he climbs in the fridge and pulls everything out – so perhaps not help as much as makes it interesting for mum!

We eat, I clean house, load dishwasher, fold up washing, finish some work, do husbands bookwork, make bottles up, have shower, clean bathroom, sweep through, pack toys up, bake some muffins for Max and drop on lounge for some much needed R&R … exhausted but completely and utterly happy.

8.00pm:  Maxi starts getting tired so it's night bottle and off to bed*

 * Not always easily … there are times when it takes a little bit extra perseverance.

9.30pm:  Fingers crossed he stays asleep!

I am blessed.
