Mother instincts ... Pink with her daughter Willow, 2.

Pink has shown her softer side, stopping mid-song during a concert to console a crying child in the audience.

Performing in Philadelphia on Sunday, the singer was halfway through her hit song Who Knew when she told the guitarist to “hold on one second”.

A video uploaded to YouTube shows the singer then pointing to an area in the crowd and asking, “Is everything okay right here? Is this little girl all right? ... Why is she crying? Why is she upset?"

When crowd members replied that the girl was crying because two women near her were fighting, Pink – mum of Willow, 2 – was clearly concerned.

"You all are fighting around a little girl?" she asked, before joking, "All right, that's cool. I know. Everyone's about to fight - I know, I'm from here."

She then offered the girl a stuffed frog that had been sitting on the stage, as well as a snack.

"Honey, do you want this frog? Will this frog and this Rice Krispies Treat make you feel better? Come on … you know you want a Rice Krispies Treat.”

The crowd passed the items back to the girl, and Pink got back to singing – not before one last parting shot at the women.

"Everything okay now? Cut it out. You all are grown-ass women. Go get a pizza, have a beer, sit down somewhere."

The singer is performing her Truth About Love Tour, which she’ll be bringing to Australia in July and August.
