Kourtney Kardashian has spilled the beans on life with her new daughter Penelope and son Mason – including the fact that her partner, Scott Disick, has yet to change their 2-month-old baby’s nappy.

In an interview published in Australia’s Who magazine, the 33-year-old mum also revealed details of her daughter’s birth, saying that as the three-hour labour drew to an end, she reached down to pull her newborn out, the same way she had for son Mason, now 2.

It's hard, but fun. This is my job - I'm a mum

“I was thinking, ‘I should pull her’. With Mason, I had no idea I was going to do that. This time I thought ‘This is what I’m supposed to do,” Kardashian said.

Mason is already a great big brother, Kardashian noted, and seems to be spending a lot of time with his dad and aunts and uncles while Penelope settles in at home.

And like any mum with a newborn and a toddler, Kardashian is getting used to a more hectic life. After the baby's birth, she says, one child would get to sleep and then the other would start crying or wake the other one.

"It's hard, but fun. This is my job - I'm a mum," she said.

Internet commentators had a lot of questions about the baby’s full name, Penelope Scotland. Was there a story behind it? Did the couple have a link to Scotland?

“Penelope doesn’t have any meaning for us, we just liked it,” Kardashian told the magazine.

And although Kourtney’s sister Kim wanted Scotland for the baby’s first name, that’s where Disick drew the line. “There was no way, with me being Scott,” he said, adding that that would be a very egotistical move.

As for Disick’s daddy skills, Kardashian says her partner watches the baby while she has a shower, and puts her down for naps, but isn't really a nappy-changing kind of guy.

“My son is almost 3, and I don’t mind changing his diapers. I’m just not comfortable doing it when the baby is that small. One wrong move and you could break the child’s bone,” he said.
