Jessica Simpson's maternity range offers a "hint of a 70s vibe", according to her business partner.
Jessica Simpson may have only given birth two weeks ago, but that isn’t slowing her down - the new mum has just announced her new line of maternity wear.
Partnering with the Destination Maternity label, Simpson will be releasing a range that includes leggings, denim, print tops, flowing maxis and firm fitting jersey knit dresses - all of which, she says, will be “flattering to your baby bump”. The collection will be launched in the Australian spring, with pieces costing between $39 and $69.
You want to wear clothes that are flattering to your baby bump; you want to show your bump off
"You want to wear clothes that are flattering to your baby bump; you want to show your bump off," the singer said in a statement.
Perhaps in a sign of what was to come, late in her pregnancy the star tweeted that she’d dreamt of giving birth in a leopard-print kaftan. It's not known if her dream came true.
Simpson already owns a fashion empire that produces clothing, accessories and shoes; it’s estimated that her company, Jessica Simpson Collection, will be worth almost $1 billion by the end of 2013.
The singer gave birth to Maxwell Drew on May 1, and says she loves dressing up her daughter.
“I’m addicted to buying headbands w massive flowers for Maxwell on etsy! She is insanely beautiful I can’t help but play dress up!” she tweeted on May 12.
