Claire Danes: 'My standards have dropped in pregnancy'
Claire Danes, with co-star Damian Lewis, is thought to be due early in 2013.
The Emmys are fast-approaching - but as glamorous as the awards ceremony may be, the event brings with it its own host of strictly first world problems for the lucky few invited to grace the red carpet.
Pregnant actress Claire Danes has confessed her standards may have "dropped a little" in the pursuit for the perfect Emmy gown.
The star of hit series Homeland has been nominated in the Lead Actress category at the coveted award ceremony, while the show itself is up for an Outstanding Drama Series gong.
Danes is expecting her first child with actor husband Hugh Dancy, and the mother-to-be has revealed that finding a limelight-worthy maternity dress is proving challenging.
"It's just whatever fits seems really, very exciting," she told Entertainment Tonight, laughing.
"My standards maybe have dropped a little."
Danes hasn't revealed her baby's due date but it's thought to be around the start of 2013. She's also keeping quiet about the baby's gender; when recently asked if she knew what she was having, she replied, "It is a human being, which is a profound relief."
As for work, the growing baby bump hasn't been written into the story of Homeland. "It's now getting to the point where I'm looking a little knocked up," she said when appearing on Live! with Kelly last week.
"They haven't written it in, but they'll be able to manipulate it in post and do some CGI trickery and make [my character] not so pregnant."
