We've already shared the top 10 cutest videos of babies and toddlers from 2014 – now here's the list of videos that really got people talking this year.

1. The ice bucket challenge saw thousands and thousands of people taking part in the massive campaign to raise money for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).  But this video of a little girl taking part – then letting loose with an emphatic swear word – got more attention than most others. And yes, there was later an apology – of sorts – and an explanation from her grandma. (Read more.)

2. This sassy two-year-old was not at all impressed by her mum laughing at her performance of a song from Frozen. "You are being a very bold girl ... Do you want to be sent to your room and sleep by yourself?" she scolded her mum in her thick Northern Irish accent. Some parents were dismayed by the girl's language, while others saw the lighter side: either way, it got everyone talking about this spirited little girl. (Read more.)

3. A funny video of a mum attempting to put her toddler twins to bed started a lot of discussion about bedtime habits. While most saw the lighter side of the battle, a few criticised the mum and her gentle methods. She hit back in her own blog, writing, "When you call me a bad mum, tell me I never should have kids and encourage me to hit my kids, I can't just sit back and say nothing. I won't." (Read more.)


4. Mateo the three-year-old caused a stir when his mum posted a video of him arguing his case for having cupcakes for dinner. Some thought he was out of line and worried where he heard the phrases he used – but his mum, Linda, isn't worried.  "I want everyone to know that he isn't disrespectful," she said. "In an effort to raise independent young adults, we let our children have a voice." (Read more.)

5. Some saw two-year-old Tallulah's self-inflicted hair cut as almost a rite of passage – it seems some kids will eventually cut their own hair at some stage. Other parents were shocked and concerned that it could happen. But hey, at least Tallulah was happy with her new do … (Read more.)
