Since about 2 months after giving birth, my hair started to fall out. It falls out in clumps. Did this happen to you and when did it stop?

It is now 5 months since I gave birth and I'm really tired of finding hair all over the house and sweeping and vacuuming all the time!

Yep! It stopped when i stopped breastfeeding DD, hoping the same thing happens with DS.

I spoke to my hairdresser and got some hair treatment that strengthens the hair which helped a bit. Might be worth trying something similar?

After 1.5 years mine feels like it comes out a lot, but I think that's because it seem like heaps compared to nothing when I was pregnant.
Or it could be because I'm near 40 and getting old

From memory it stopped at about 6 months for me last time. You don't drop any hair during pregnancy which is why your hair probably looked fantastic. Mine is falling out all over the house too, it's a bit disturbing how much comes out in clumps.

It will stop, you wont go bald!

Yes it happened after all 3 of my children! It eased off after a couple of months.

Yep had the same thing after both babies. About 10 months each time, slowed down after I stopped breast feeding. I was quite self conscious about it because I had bald patches either side of my forehead. I'd do a bit of a Donald Trump when I wore it up !

It didn't stop after my first until I was 4 months pregnant with my second (although that was the 4th pregnancy so it didn't stop for the two losses either).

It did coincide with my stopping breastfeeding my eldest so perhaps that is the key? All I know it still falls out like a wet dog and my youngest is now 9 months.

Yeah, it happened to me. It started late and stopped maybe a year after having my daughter?

Don't worry - it comes back I looked like I had a receding hairline and was so worried!

Both times for me it stopped around 5 months. My friends were all similar in the time their hair stopped falling out.

I was losing a lot of hair! At times I was .

It had nothing to do with breastfeeding (I breast fed mine to well past their second birthdays).

I'm sure it will ease off soon.

my hair fell out during pregnancy, it stopped after i had my bub! its wierd what our bodies do in regards to pregnancy/after pregnancy...

I think mine fell out for more than 2 years! But I did breastfeed for two years. Don't worry though, it all grows back. Now DS is five I'm pretty sure my hair is still as thick as it ever was.

Took about a year for it to stop completely. Though I was going to end up with huge bald patches at some points in time I was loosing so much of it. They I had the lovely short fuzzy stuff coming through so even when tied back I had a lovely halo of hair (I have HEAPS of fine hair though, it looks very thick until you look at it and realise it is just a huge amount of fine hair)
