Just an update from my previous post about blood tests - the hospital requested that my toddler's blood tests be repeated "in house", to double check that tTG levels are high again, before going to biopsy. This seems to be dragging out, I'm keen to know if she has coeliac or not, and get her off gluten if so!
Has anyone had high tTG/coeliac screen levels then had a negative biopsy?
Is a general anaesthetic needed for biopsy in a 2 1/2 year old?
Thanks for any comments.

Don't have any experience with the blood tests but if they want to do them again i'd let them!
GA needed for biopsy!

It seems strange that they are wanting to repeat the test.
Are you a public patient? I am wondering if you are, then maybe they will then bump her up for the biopsy if it's still high again?
If she hasn't had her iron levels checked - ask them to test them at the same time as they could be low and she might need a supplement - might as well get it tested since she is getting the needle!

Yep her iron levels were tested and were low! The repeat blood results were elevated again, so we are now booked in for biopsy in a few weeks - looking forward to having that over and done with. We are going to the Children's Hospital Westmead (Sydney) - as that's where I work!
Can anyone tell me how long it takes to get biopsy results back, or could they even tell us on the spot?? I am wondering if we stock the house with gluten-free for when she comes home!

If they are taking tissue biopsies, then results are next day to a week away. You might be able to get prelim results in a few hours.
Sorry it's not what you want to hear.
Hope everything works out well.
