I am offically starting today.... I don't like the week 1 menu in the weigh it up challenge.... soup for lunch and dinner day 1 + day 2???? Really!!?
~**SYMONE**~
I suppose it's like that kick-start diet, I am pretty sure it was on the weigh it up program last time. I think it makes you lose a bit more weight and maybe get motivated.

I am telling the family I want a HRM for Mother's Day. Was going to wait until I hit 85kg....but stuff it wink.gif

Week 2 will be the week for me to try and get into personals.

I have also planned my exercise for the next few days on my calendar, so we will see how that goes.
allyr
Thanks for the roll call Nae_Nae.

I don't like thee menu either. So I'm chopping and changing. Hopefully I don't defeat the whole purpose of the menu!
Nae_Nae
Hi ~**SYMONE**~ and allyr...

I have judo training on a Monday night. So that will be my exersice today...

I am off to Melbourne for the weekend (fri-sun) so I hope i can do the right thing while I am down there.
3inJune
Hi guys, I'm back from our little trip original.gif I ate fairly well and now remember how easy it was to eat better in the country. Everything is closed by 6:30pm and food costs a bomb! We went out for dinner on Thursday night and I really felt like an ice-cream or something after. I asked my friend if anything would still be open and NOPE! All closed.

Back to logging calories today and I think I should do it everyday as it keeps my servings smaller too. I really wanted potato chips a while ago and instead of inhaling half the pack, I poured 25gms into a small bowl and ate them slowly. Don't feel like chips anymore and even though they were calorie dense, I didn't eat 500 cals worth. Small victories!

Thanks for doing the roll call Nae_Nae. I feel motivated seeing those numbers there!
I love soup but for that many meals in a row?! Have fun in Melbourne. What are you planning to do while you are there?

~**SYMONE**~-I love my HRM! Very motivating original.gif I have my exercise in my google calendar and it reminds me that I need to be there. I like the structure original.gif

I'm off to the physio this afternoon. Hopefully he can set me right as my left knee is now playing up as well sad.gif I should be doing school prep. instead of posting here, so I should go and make some posters for my Dr Seuss display...more procrastination! Anyone got any good ideas for Mothers' Day craft? As a Mum I like things I can use or store easily. I was thinking of baking cupcakes with pink glitter icing and getting my class to make the gift tags. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated original.gif
Nae_Nae
This is the facebook group I have made....

Facebook Group

~**SYMONE**~
I hate set menus, I have the biggest group of fusspots here it isn't funny....just makes it ridiculously hard. Good on you guys for trying it out though.

Have fun at Judo Renee. I have never been to Melbourne so have fun there too original.gif

3inJune glad you had a good trip. And ate fairly well to boot, going away is always hard temptation wise. What kind of HRM do you have?

ETA - Renee can't see the group when I click on the link. Did you make it a secret group, or just private?
Sallystwo
Hello all, I have been MIA this week - with the dreaded winter lurgy. Hopefully will be back on track soon.
Supernova2012
Sallystwo- hope you are better soon.

Symone- I don't know what I want for mothers day. Slippers or winter running pants maybe. Melbourne is getting cold! Hrm will be good incentive!

Nae nae- thanks for the roll call!

3injune- hope your knee improves. I like getting family portraits. I got a lucky dip last year with things in like cuddles and kisses and a back rub. It was made from half a paper plate stapled on a paper plate and coloured in by DD2. A cup decorated to hold pens would be handy.

GIO, don't worry, I am not going well this week. Damn those delicious cocktails!

Hi ally, Mardy, Matt, holly and everyone else.

I did bootcamp today. Tomorrow taekwondo. Did okish food wise. Made pumpkin and sweet potato soup which was nice in this cold weather down here.
~**SYMONE**~
According to my calendar I will be doing Bob Harper Super Strength tomorrow original.gif After I go to the orthodontist, get my 3yo's hair cut and maybe do the shopping.....

Hey Lex, you never fail to disappoint with your motivation!!

I have done well with the diet the last few days and have exercised for the last two days...hopefully I am on a roll now wink.gif
Triple treat
Well the usual problems over the weekend: too much food, too much alcohol, too little exercise! Not very inspired by weighitup this week so I'm doing the menu swap around too.

3inJune this is a thread all about weight loss! Wash your mouth out with soap suggesting cupcakes as gifts lol. You should be decorating carrots or plaiting beans, maybe even making bouquets from asparagus and radishes!

Have fun in Melbourne Renee: remember they can have 4 season's weather in 1 day so don't pack light!

Trying to find my motivation lately, I hope it comes back to me soon.
imamumto3
Im glad DS is back at school tomorrow, if I walk him there in the morning & the afternoon I get an hour of walking up hill part way & pushing the pram. Now I just need the weather to hold up! I also eat better when the kids arent around because I tend not to snack when they do.
Nae_Nae
Morning,

Judo was ok. My back is playing up. It has got to the point where I am going to have to do something about it. I am not 100% if I should go to a physio or a chiro... So cause my neck was out last week I might go to a chiro and get that sorted then he/she can check out my back too.

This will be my 1st trip to Melbourne. I am excited. I am going to Avalon and Geelong so not the city. I have a friends 40th down there. I am photographing it for her (I'm a photographer as my 2nd job)... so photos in exchange for airfair + accom = happy me + cheap weekend away!

~**SYMONE**~ - Can you see the goup now? I changed the settings.
Facebook Group
- Good luck with your quiet day today... LOL

Sallystwo - Hello. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Lexillotti - Bootcamp then taekwondo... go you!

Triple treat - I am packing as much as I can fit into my bag. I have the 23kg and I am not goign with hubby, so there will be no complaining that I packed too much! LOL

imamumto3 - Yeah my kids go back to school today. They aren't happy, I am LOL.

I clicked on the facebook group and it seems to be working now. I only just reopened my facebook. I had it dormant for over 4 years and only opened it up again in the past few weeks.
We have a 30th birthday to attend tonight.
The invitation states that it is for pizza and cake :| we will have to see how good the will power is tonight.
Supernova2012
Lol Nae Nae, that isn't visiting Melbourne! That is like going to Canberra or Newcastle and saying you are going to Sydney! have a good time. Pack for cold weather. How long have you been doing Judo? I have done taekwondo for one week!

Matt- Sounds dangerous. Can you BYO a salad?

Symone- keep up that exercise!

Triple treat- I like your mothers day ideas! Imagine getting a radish. Although one of my friends did get moth balls once. Her DS thought they were lollies.

Better do some work. Back tonight.
matt1972
They are a fairly traditional Italian family so I think if I turned up with salad they might call the police!
I might make something when I get home to restrict my hunger when I am there.
~**SYMONE**~
Matt - Italians like salad don't they??

Renee - my physio family all hate chiros and I would be disowned if I went to one LOL. Found the group now and asked to join original.gif

Have done the ortho and the hair cut, will see if exercise will be following wink.gif
Nae_Nae
Lex - I first started judo when I was about 14, so 21 years ago! I took my 2 boys to visit my old coach and traning parters late in 2010. My eldest, who was 7, wanted to jump on the mat and have a go. So I let him. I had always planned to put him into judo but I was thinking at about 10 years old not 7. Anyway, he decied he wanted to give it a go. So I let him try it. Then he liked it. So I jumped back on the mat too. I mean since I am there I may aswell train too. I like it. I don't like the lack of fitness and the fact that I am old! It's a little frustrating cause I used to be pretty good - I went to nationals and represented australia... What made you take up taekwondo?

Matt - I'd e eating before I went to the 30th.

~**SYMONE**~ - I am not a chiro person either. I used to see an ostiopath as they kinda do both muscle and bone stuff but they are hard to find. I just don't think that a phsio will fix my neck.... it needs to be cracked I think.
~**SYMONE**~
I know what you are saying!! And I do sneak in a few visits if needed, I just don't tell anyone wink.gif
~**SYMONE**~
BAH - Dh will be home in a minute that means no fitness DVDS. There's no way in hell I am doing one in front of him, that would just cause a mountain of laughs LOL.

Might try and go for an hours walk this afternoon instead!! Hopefully he gets a call out and I can do it then!!
allyr
Ahh Symone. I'm like you and won't exercise in front of DH!

I got my walk in yesterday arvy, 30 mins of brisk walking. Will try again today, but hopefully for longer this time.

Matt, eat before the 30th! I went to a Baptism and lunch on the weekend. Lunch was supposed to be 11:30, but it was 2:30 before it was served. As a result I was ravenous and ate spring rolls, dim sims, garlic bread and potato bake!

Hi everyone else!
3inJune
Triple treat-So I shouldn't post pictures of the cupcakes then?! Tounge1.gif Thanks for the ideas ladies original.gif I do grow spinach so maybe I could give the Mum's bunches of spinach-can you imagine their faces LOL

Nae_Nae-I asked to join the facebook group a minute a go, my 'real' name is Colleen original.gif
I saw a physio about my neck and back yesterday and he was brilliant. I have always seen chiros, much to my husbands dismay (science and all that jazz...) I think the reason the chiro worked was because of the massage beforehand. The physio did the same stuff as the chiro but just didn't 'crack' anything. Feels HEAPS better today and I go back on Monday for more of the same. He said it's years of tightness and should be good to go in 3 treatments. Then on to my knee!

Matt- I have NO willpower for cake! Pizza I love but can resist, cake and I am gone. Exercise more and just enjoy it in moderation would be my advice. I will burn an extra 400 or so cals if I know I am going to eat something diet unfriendly.

~**SYMONE**~-I hear you on doing the DVDS alone. My husband wants me to do Zumba at home (I only do it at the gym). I think he thinks I will look 'sexy' like the Zumba ads. I think he would die laughing if he had to be subjected to my moves Tounge1.gif

3inJune
~**SYMONE**~-I have the Polar FT7. I got the men's version because I liked the colour better original.gif It does all I need and was not too expensive.

I have already been to the gym this morning but only to deliver flowers to one of our creche ladies original.gif She is leaving after 20 years! She has looked after all of my children and it will be sad to not see her every week.

I will go back tonight and do Combat and Balance. Nothing gets in the way of Tuesday night Combat!
~**SYMONE**~
I was thinking the FT4 3inJune...do you have any idea of what the difference is?? They are on eBay for $85 including postage
imamumto3
just went for a walk, it was so nice to go with just the child in the pram & not with the 2 slow walking older kids!

now to work out what to have for lunch, left over taco stuff or bbq chicken & salad
3inJune
That is a pretty good deal ~**SYMONE**~ I know mine was a bit over $100 (DH bought it for me). I know the FT4 does basically the same thing. The Polar website does the specifications but really all I want is calories burnt and maybe a bit of heart rate information. It looks like the FT4 comes in PINK! I would get it for that reason alone Tounge1.gif

imamumto3-I'd go the taco! I used to love tacos but I can't eat tomatoes or capsicum anymore so I don't bother.
~**SYMONE**~
Might just put the order in now then wink.gif FT4 it is!!
FionaM
hi all
sorry have been mia but will be back more often.

netball season started on saturday and ofcourse it was so hot, so i think i lost more weight in the heat. I was surprised how well i felt after it as it was a real good hit out.
sunday went for my 1 1/2 hour walk.
i havent been that good yesterday or today with exercise as im not feeling that well so im off to the doctors this afternoon (after begging for an appointment as it was full) to get some antibotics.

i also received that weighitup meal plan and cant say i was too happy with the soup for so many meals ... but maybe that is my problem of not detoxing my body first.
anyway i will see how i go with the menu and fingers i feel better tomorrow to be able to do a bit of exercise with the kids and then my 1 1/2 hour walk at night.
Supernova2012
Nae nae- so do you retain the same belt or do you have to earn it again? You must have been good! I won't be good- too old and unco, but that is ok.

I have always wanted to do a martial art and I am 40 next year so I thought I'd better hurry up and get on with it. I have 4 things I want to do before I am 40- learn a martial art, learn an instrument, lose weight and go to the USA.

I picked taekwondo as my BIL, niece and nephew all do it. My BIL and nephew are going for black belt now. My SIL and I have started together, so it is nice to have someone to go with. SIL said we won't be about to spar as the young women just kick straight for the head and we won't be that quick or flexible, so I said we can just fight each other LOL!

Symone- my DH loves it when I do dvds in front of him. He likes it a bit too much... which is disconcerting when you are all hot and sweaty and just want him to go away! Hope you get to do one!

Ally- it is awful when you have to wait to eat! i turn into the cookie monster! I ate lunch at 12.30 today and I am starving now. We have a 2pm coffee run at work, so hopefully that will help.

imamumto3- do your kids have scooters- that is one way to speed up the walks!

3inJune- I like physios too. I used to have a dodgy neck and it has been good for nearly 10 years now after seeing a physio.

Better do some more work. Had my pumpkin soup for lunch. Mum has made chop suey for tea. Not sure how all that cabbage is going to go with taekwondo tonight!
Nae_Nae
I wont do exercise infront of DH, except for the stepper. That is ok....

Re: Judo I am a green belt. In judo is goes: white, yellow, orange, green, blue brown, black... I was really a blue belt when I left but my coach can't find the info on that grading and I didn't mention it until he started talkin about grading me up to blue belt. I am not fussed by the colour of my belt so I'd rather people expect less of me and be a green blet LOL. My coash is goign to grade me again once I stop putting him off.. LOL. I am very "bendy", as I like to call it. Alwasy have been. So at least I still have that going. I just have to keep reminding myself that most of the people I train with are around 20... so much younger than me! My training parter, Sarah is 18. I am 35 in July.

Lex - I think it's great that you have taken up a martial art. I am not anti other martial arts, like some people. I think that they are all good and each appear to different people for different reasons. It is great that you are doing the things you have set for yourself to achieve.

I have a to do list. I have no date to do them by I just try do do at least one from the list each year. I have activities and trips

That's quite and extensive list Renee original.gif
*little-rach*
Hi girls, well after having a huge binge eating fest late last week that ofcourse lasted about 2 days! ohmy.gif
I am now back on track. Since the weekend I have been eating well and exercising.

Tonight Im off to join the gym, which Im quite excited about. I stopped going when I fell pregnant with DD3 so Im looking fwd to getting back into it and having some ME time! To begin with Ill be going twice a week, Tuesday night to do Body Balance and Sunday mornings for Body Combat - my FAV! I cant wait for that.

Ive written down and stuck on the fridge my exercises for the week so that will hopefully make sure I do them each day! here it is..

Mon - 30 day shred (tick!)
Tues - body balance
Wed - 1 hr walk
Thurs - walk DD1 to kindy and back with DD2&3 in the pram (will be around 1 hour round trip)
Fri - 30 day shred
Sat - Rest
Sun - Body combat

Lexi & Renee - I decided last year I wanted to kick boxing.. so off I went to a class. I enjoyed it up until this 40 something year old lady booted me in the head and I had a sore eye for a few days! I didnt go back after that! hahaha. Im glad I tried it though! lol

I will go onto the facebook page soon, my name is Rachael.

SYMONE - I have a Polar FT40, its white and I love it! I got it off ebay last year for my bday. It was about $180 inc. postage from memory. It tells me how many cals I have burned, heart rate, heart rate zone (fat burning or fitness) it also tells me what percentage of each workout was in each zone. Average heart rate, highest heart rate etc. It also keeps record of each workout so I can go back and see the info. Its been really good and I havent had any problems.

I just had a protein smoothie with banana, ice, soy milk, honey and flaxseed for lunch! it was yummo!

Hope your all having a great day.

GIO
Matt - I know your wife!
matt1972
Uh oh lol
imamumto3
i found a new workout today, constantly going up stairs chasing dd who kept going up to cause trouble in the bedrooms. seriously, i must of climbed the stairs about 50 times today
imamumto3
I weighed in today & I have lost the 700g I put on last week, so I am back down to my starting weight. I have 5kg to loose
allyr
Well done imamum!

I made the soup last night, but our stupid town has no Miso. Hubby and I both ate it, and I'll eat it again today. I"ll try and keep to the liquid diet until tomorrow lunch time. Hopefully that makes up for not doing it Monday!

mesaana
On heart rate monitors, I recently bought this one:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003A0QEM...ils_o05_s00_i00
Its great - does all that little-rach mentioned too:

It only stores 9 workouts, but that's fine by me. I don't notice the chest strap. Although, a few days ago I got it beeping at me whenever I pressed a button, so I have to work out how to turn that off again....
allyr
Oops forgot to add my exercise. A 40 min walk last night and thirty mins this morning.

I was going to ask about the watches too. Thanks Mesanna.

I'll go check it out!
Supernova2012
Imamumto3- those stairs sound like a good workout!

Allyr- good job getting back to your starting weight.

Mesanna- I need some thing like that. Hmm mothers day is coming up.

Just did a 6k run. Yes, it did rain. Thanks Melbourne! Did a good time though!

Taekwondo was good last night. It didn't really occur to me that it is a contact sport until last night when we had to let everyone hit us in the head. Ah good times!

Will go shower and weigh myself and report in later.
3inJune
GL: 5.4kg
CL: 1.6kg
LL: 3.8kg

700gms gone! I have been tracking calories etc and staying under but have eaten too many 'treats'. I know it's calories in/calories out but I am always surprised to lose weight when I am eating biscuits/chocolate etc. My goal for next week is to cut the biscuits out. Small steps.

Gym is shut today so I have been for a walk to burn some calories. 334 in 50 minutes. That is why I love the gym. I can get 500+ calories for that time frame...I like efficiency Tounge1.gif I am aiming for 400 today so I will find some of our Zumba tracks on Youtube in a bit and dance with my girls. They will think it is awesome and I will get some exercise!

Hope everyone is having a nice day-I'll be back for personals later...DH is bugging me (in a nice way) to help him do the lunch dishes!
~**SYMONE**~
First 500+ calorie burn done original.gif 7.45km in 70 minutes
Supernova2012
That is pretty quick walking Symone!

Great work 3injune!

Well, I put on 800g! I am not surprised as I had some big nights and my loss was too big last week. 1.6. I find if I have a big loss I tend to go back a bit and then forward again.

So I am at

Gl 6
Cl .8
Ll 5.2

Ah well, I will see how this week goes. Already been bad today. I made Anzac cookies with dd2 and they are nice. Taekwondo again tomorrow. Better brace myself for DH and dad coming home. They will be all morose cos Essendon lost.
allyr
Well I just did my first HIIT class. It was freaking hard, but I loved it. Our trainer is away until next week, but I'm looking forward to it!

Lexi, you've still lost and there are 8 weeks left.

That is fast walking Symone!

WEll done 3inJune!

I weigh in on Friday, but I think my scales are dodgy. I can hop on three times in a row and ger t hree different weights!
Triple treat
Well done 3inJune, that's a really great loss.

Congrats Symone, you seem to be getting back into things: you must have Fiji on your mind!

Another slow walk with the dog today with peeing in the communal water bowl the highlight. Definitely the dog Lex, not me!

Ally I hope you take the lightest weight as the right one when you weigh in, I'm sure the challenge rules say you must!
3inJune
*little-rach*-I'm a combat tragic! I can't miss combat! I hope you enjoyed your first class back original.gif

Good job imamumto3. Keep up the good work!

~**SYMONE**~That is a good burn original.gif I like to go 500+ makes me feel like I've really done something.

Lexillotti-I'm a bit like that-I tend to bounce around a bit but if I apply myself my weight comes down over time.

I always seem to have dodgy scales allyr. Doesn't matter how much I pay for them! The ones I am using at the moment need the battery pushed in each time I want to use them and they were not cheap...grrr

allyr LOL I like your sense of humour original.gif

I'm off to work tomorrow! First day after school holidays. I might be missing in action for the rest of the week depending on how it goes.

Have a great rest of the week everyone x
GIO
Hi All

Um, I weighed in at 57.9 this morning. So up 900g from whenever I last weighed myself.

But that comes after a few days of serious comfort eating.

i did yoga this morning and two sessions of meditation to help me get in the right emotional place.

Also did some zumba this evening which i love - it loosens up my hips and helps my back pain - good stuff.

Soup for lunch and dinner, not the same recipe as weigh it up, but similar. So hopefully i can get myself on the right track despite my body trying to put on it's winter pounds.
Supernova2012
Maybe we''d better flip this challenge around GIO- last one to 60 is the winner!
allyr
Lexi, I like your viewpoint!

Ok people, I need help. About two months ago I had a fall. Actually two on the same day on the same knee. My DDspilled water on the tiles and I fell hard. After the second fall I couldn't use my right leg at all for a week or so. It got better, but still hurts. After HIIT class today, both knees are on ice and the right is particularly bad. We had a cattle station as children with p;enty of falls, so I think my knee problems started there.

Anyway, what can i do? I don't think i can Make Sh'bam tomorrow as i am limping now. My trainer suggested a knee brace. Please help.
