After 12+ months of trying DH and I decided to stop actively trying and just see how it goes.

I was a POAS junkie and the dissapointment was starting to get to me month after month.

I swore of pregnancy tests, and stopped keeping records of everything but for some reason I thought id do a pregnancy test today and to me complete surprise I got BFP.gif . I tried again and got another positive.

So I went out and bought a Clear Blue Pregnancy test and it came up saying not pregnant and then died (its supposed to at least keep the message showing for 24 hours).

So I tried another first response pregnancy test and its positive and then I tried another Clear Blue Pregnancy test and it came up as 1-2 weeks.

So do you think im pregnant or not?

Ive tried to get into to see a doctor to get a blood test but I cant get an appointment until Monday.

Does anyone know any other way I can get my pregnancy confirmed?

Im too scared to feel happy yet, I cant eat, I cant think straight I really really want to know now.
Miss S
Sounds like a positive to me biggrin.gif Congratulations

Yes I would say congratulations are in order. False negatives are quite common but I've never heard of a false positive before.

While googling for a similar answer, I found many people around the world, saying they had been in the obstetrics field and had never seen a false positive on a urine test. You are much more likely to get a false negative, for reasons of being too early or not enough hormone yet.

First Response early preg test I've found works earlier than all the others, and when I showed my first response bfp to the doctor, he looked at it and said "Well, you're pregnant!" but tested again anyway, just to be even surer. If some brands are still going screwy on you, perhaps you could go out and get some First Response and try with first morning urine. You should get a pretty solid response, unless it's too early, of course. original.gif

Oooh! I'd say a huge congratulations are in order! Is there another doctor you can get into earlier to confirm if you can't wait till Monday?

I would say its a congratulations in order. I would probably not be able to help myself and take a few more over the weekend.

Yeap your pregnant.
I hear you on the wait for gp, I got my bfp ten days ago and the earliest I could get in is tomorrow.

My GP never did anything to 'confirm' a PG. He just asked if I had POAS multiple times with a positive result (which was yes) and then said "Congratulations... how do you want to proceed?" and then wrote out a referral to the OB.

Yes you are PG.

Congratulations!

FWIW, my GP was the same as pp - did nothing to confirm the preg, just asked me which OB I wanted a referral to.

Unfortunately, that ended up being a chem preg.

The following cycle I got another BFP and went back. I was sent for bloods that time and got booked into an early scan (for no other reason than my own satisfaction - the GP said, and I agree, there was no real point apart from for my own mental health/anguish about another poss m/c)

I would say yes you are pregnant! Pretty impossible to get a false positive, the hormone it detects can only be there if you are pregnant. Congratulations!!

I had similar mixed results. My doctor said that if you get even one positive - then you are pregnant!

Hey there!
We'd been trying for a year and then the Same thing happened to me - a lot of positives on first response then I tried a digital one and it said 'not pregnant'.
I assumed itd be more accurate but it wasnt as sensitive.

This preg I didn't even buy one of that type. Just the good old 2 pink line first response ones.

I hope your news is just as everyone hopes for you.
Good luck and let us know. X

I'm with the others - Congratulations!!
For what it's worth, I didn't even book in to see my GP until a week after my BFP and she didn't do anything just wrote my referrals and gave me free samples of Elevit, my positive sticks were enough of a confirmation for her.
Mind you, I'd done 3 first responses and a Clearblue digital by the time I saw her and did another clear blue digital after, just to see the weeks change original.gif

Thanks for your replies.

I asked the receptionist nicely to please put me on their cancellation list and I got an appt.

The doctor said the same thing, congrats you are pregnant and gave me referals to get bloods done and an ultrasound in June.

Very surreal!
Kemma
That's awesome.
Here's to a smooth & boring pregnancy for you.
