Hi beautiful ladies

so I'm eagerly anticipating my first OBGYN appt next Friday. I'll be towards the end of my 7th week.

What should I expect at this appointment?

I can't wait till I see the proof in my belly :-)

It depends on your OB I think. Some have ultrasounds in their room others don't. Are you having a scan before ?

I think at the 7 week my OB checked the cervix had closed and asked me about my general health etc, discussed my meds with me.

Then the receptionist gave me a whole lot of info including the bill LOL

Mine was a discussion about my history (which is complex), looked over my bloods and talked about what the steps forward are. Then he did a quick scan and told me when to make y next appointment.

From memory I was weighed a height measured- asked if I had any sickness- discussed history ( not much for me) reviewed the process- quick scan to see bub and done. :-). It's so exciting!

Mine we went through my medical history, weighed me, took stats on my height, shoe size (indicator of pelvis size apparently!), got referrals for bloods, NT scan and 20 week scan, discussed those and why we do them, talked about my severe nausea and vomiting and other meds I could take, had and a quick scan. I then saw the midwife who works with my OB straight after and talked about diet and foods, exercise, booking in at hospital and antenatal classes.

Oh how exciting, I loved my first appointment. My Ob discussed my history... Asked me how Id like to birth my baby (if I had any clear ideas yet... ie section or natural... yes you usually have the choice with private care)... weighed me, gave me a referal for 12 week scan and first blood tests, did a breast examination and had a feel of my tummy and did a quick scan wub.gif

That was about it, its mainly an introduction and to get referals for your first scan. She said to me after the 12 week scan is all cleared the appts get a bit more in depth. Goodluck.

It was also recommeded to me OP to write down any questions I had and bring a list so you dont forget anything. They will ask at the end usually if you have any questions and you can fire away, and dont stress... they are used to it original.gif
