DS has been in grobags only since he started kicking his wraps off at 4 months old.

He is only just fitting into his 12-18month grobags so im not sure if I should buy the next size up or just change to sheets.

At what age did your LO stop using grobags?

Will be stalking, I'm in the same boat! Although on the few occasions it has been really hot and I've tried putting him to bed with no bag he refuses to go to sleep!

When he went into a big bed at 3 yr old. We used the 18-36 month ones

I went up to the 3 year old grobags.

Am quite tempted to buy the all in one (really ugly), type stretch n grow thingymajig pyjamas for him....just cos it would look so cute.

DD1 moved out of her grobag at around 2.5, when she went into a big bed.

DD2 is 22 months and is still in a grobag. When we convert her cot to a toddler bed we will try sheets.

I think it's better to start in summer so you aren't worried about them kicking the sheets and blankets off.

Our daughter (two next month) was in a sleeping bag till about 6 weeks ago then it got too hot so while she was still in her cot, she was just in her pjs, and now she's been in her big (single) bed for about 3 weeks and we just use sheets. Taking advantage of the warmer weather to get her used to it because I'm checking her through the night and she's usually uncovered, so Summer is a good time to convert I think.

My DD loves her grobag. Whenever we tell her its time for bed she says "bag" and "dummies". Completely ingrained sleep cues! She is 20 months but still fitting in the 6-18 month bags. She's average height & weight. We have already moved her into a single bed (although it is on the floor) and I thought we'd go to sheets but she was so attached to the bag we just kept using it.

I have some 18-36 month ones in 2.5 TOG for winter so I reckon we might be using them for some time yet.

Keep an eye on Bambini Pronto if you do want to buy more. A couple of times a year they have grobags 50% off. I follow them on facebook so get notified when the sales are coming up. That's where I got the 18-36 month bags last time. Great value!

DD was 28 months when she went from cot/grobag to bed/doona.

ETA: We had about a week during the transition to the bed where she still wanted the grobag.

My daughter was 2 years old last month and she was using her Grobags until the weather warmed up in about November. She now will actually sleep underneath a sheet and blanket without kicking them off or me being paranoid about her suffocating. She used to sleep quite often in some very interesting positions in her cot and the Grobag was the safest option for bedcovers.

We bought the 18 to 36 month, 2.5 TOG winter Grobags because she needed the legroom to kick and squirm, and used to be tall for her age. She's now short to average like Mum and Dad!

I'm not sure if she will be using them this year once it is cool at night or not. I will probably put her in them on the cold nights just to be sure that she is warm enough even if she kicks the blankets off. She loves her Grobags and they are a huge cue that it is bedtime.

I got mine from here last year on the 50% off sale, but just found out that they're not stocking gro bags any more sad.gif. Any other ways to get cheaper ones? I need winter Ones soon. (sorry for hijack)
BornToLove
We stopped using them around November, so around 20 months. It was getting too warm at night for it and she was starting to get too big. We offered a light weight quilt MIL made in a similar fabric as her sleep sack.

We had no problems with transition. She keeps her blanket on during the cool nights, kicks it off when she's too warm. FWIW, she's will move toa big bed next month (@ 24 months)

I have two of the 3-6 yr grobags , my boys were in them from 6 months old , came out of them in summer at about 2.5 yrs and we have kept on using them through winter. It's not so much a comfort thing for them now as they are older , just an extra layer of warmth.

My DS is 3 and is still in his Grobag (18-36 month ones). I honestly have no idea when we are going to move him out of them and into sheets.

What? really?

DS will be staying in his until he's not in the cot anymore. I suspect they are preventing him trying to climb out.

Bambini Pronto are no longer the supplier of GroBags to Australia (it is now Roger Armstrong).

I did the 18-36m grobags. My kids were out of them 2.5-3yrs of age.

I also went for the GroFirst Duvet. It is really helpful as the Doona cover zips onto the sheets, so very handy for not losing the doona during the night.

Eamon loves his sleeping bag and I have no plans on changing it soon. He is in an 18-36month one now which is huge on him and when it gets cooler I will get a 2.5tog one, same size.He turns in his sleep a lot....I put him down with his head at the top of the cot but by the morning his head is down the other and and he is lying sideways in the cot. Based on others comments about doing over summer I might leave it till next summer, he will probably have the side taken off his cot by then
LoveMy3Kids
We've just stopped using them with DD3 (20 months) as she's just gone into a toddler bed. For me it seems to coincide with big bed and toilet training as that's starting soon too. I've done the same for all 3 girls. They seem to move around less once they have a sheet and quilt. Summer definitely helps as I'm not worrying all night about her being cold.
Pup-pup
We just moved DD to a big bed at 24mths. I used her grobag as a sheet for a few days, as it is summer. She is also toilet training, so I want her to be able to go herself in the morning. She had a grobag for 18mths (naps included). We use sheets & blanket now.

Have a look for Grobags on ebay, the quality is pretty high so its something I would be happy to buy 2nd hand, I have bags I used for both DD and then DS and they held up just fine and were still in really good condition when I sold them on ebay (would have kept them for a 3rd baby if I were able to have one, which I'm not).

Try and get rid of them early. I have a 8 year old who is very tiny in a 3-6 sized bag. She loves it and still has her 6-18 month ones that she cuddles. I swear she will have them in her bed until she gets married.

Dd is just 2 and the grobags are going strong.

I plan to do with her what I did with the boys and keep her in them over the coming winter, then come September as the weather warms, transition her into a bed and out of the bags.

I like to do it in the warmer weather so that she has time to get used to keeping covers on herself before to cools again.

Some of my bags are 10 yrs old (used with the boys) and still going strong, the rest purchased off eBay 2nd hand.

DS is 21mths old and when the weather cools we will be replacing the Grobags with the Snugtime tog rated blanket sleepers (1 pc sleepsuit style pj with feet that go up to size 5 or 6). They come in 1.5 or 2 tog. As we're in Canberra ds will wear long john style pjs under the sleepsuit and then have blankets on top (hopefully if he kicks them off the slepsuit will keep him warm enough).

My 4 year old granddaughter loves her "baggie" and will ask for it when she feels tired. It is a sleep cue and we all have sleep cues, whether it be reading in bed, moving feet around or having a small sherry. I think she will be another one taking her "baggie" with her when she marries. roll2.gif
