We have been looking at these for the nursery but I have noticed that a lot of the websites say that the decals may not stick properly on walls painted with Dulux or other washable paint. Was hoping people who know their walls are painted in this kind of paint could tell me where they got their decals from, whether you had any problems getting them to stick and if so, what you did about it.

Thanks

We have Dulux paint and I just did wall decals in all of the bedrooms on newly painted walls. They have adhered just fine and been up for several weeks now without any peeling problems.

The painters who did our house told us to wait 6 weeks to apply them to the walls and it wouldn't be a problem.

Thanks. Can I ask which ones you got?

I don't know anything about those but we recently painted a wall in our loungeroom with Dulux wash and wear and I tried to stick one of those adhesive hooks to it and it wouldn't stick at all, just kept falling off. Maybe I should try again in a couple of weeks if you are supposed to wait 6 weeks.

we had nothing but problems with our taubmans orange paint, in fact we ruined a decal trying to stick it with spray adhesive and everything!! But thank goodness it was only a feature wall, so we bought another and put it on a white wall, dulux paint.

In our other twins nursery we painted dulux on the feature wall and we had no issues at all. However we did use a different company for the decals in that room.

The decal company we used in the 2nd nursery was http://www.mymunchkinhome.com.au/store/pc/home.asp

I would highly reccomend them, there a much better quality than the other two we used for the other nursery, and had no issues what so ever. Customer service was also really good, and when we were going to buy both from them (wish we had! but they didn't have quite the right one) the lady even said she could work on a discount for us.

We have Dulux and the kids have been sticking their Love Mae decals all over the place with no problem. The ones they've stuck on the orange wall (which I think may also be Taubmans as per PP) haven't stuck as well, but that particular wall is prone to damp so I thought it might be the moisture rather than the paint. The rooms are not newly painted, however.

They aren't the usual decals though - they are designed to be peeled off and reused, and they do peel off quite easily without leaving any marks and are easily stuck down again. My girls love them because all the bits are separate and they can make whatever designs they like and change them all the time.
