Hi all,
I am self employed and have been for the last few years.
Business is steady, I am making average money (fortunately my DH makes a decent regular living) but I appreciate that I am lucky enough to only have to work 4 days per week which is a positive.
I work with children and as the new year has now begun and we are all back in the swing of things I am feeling like that passion is gone!
I would love to have someone else running the business but a) I don’t really trust anyone else to do it and b) what else would i do to bring in a regular income of some kind while someone else was doing my current job?
Any ideas how i can reignite the passion or any other ideas or solutions
Thanks
paod

If the passion has truly gone could you sell the business?
Or could you slightly change direction with the business?
Could you get some-one to manage it for a short period to give yourself time to recharge?

I have considered selling but am nervous that i will sell and then regret it
the direction is fairly set and doesn’t have much room for movement
I could get someone into manage it (and i have someone in mind but she is unable to commit at the moment due to study)
arrgghhh!
Keep suggestions coming I am all ears

When you were passionate about it what was it exactly that excited you about the business? Has the business changed in some way.
Routine bores me to death.
I love new ideas, being creative, setting things up. Then I lose interest.....
How about you?

Is it that the admin is dragging you down? Owning a business and working in an industry are two unrelated fields and I find that it's the paperwork and admin that I despise. Can you outsource that aspect and just treat yourself as another employee?

Hi all thanks for your replies.
I dont mind the admin its the actual work that is getting me down with the kids that is.
amoural lemur i think i am also like you in that i like the setting up and creativity but not so much the routine!
Thanks again
