Quinston, you poor thing. If that didn't bring on labour, then you can't be ready yet. I'm still hoping you get your Leap Baby.

alibaba~81, how late was your DD? DS was 3 days early, so I'm hoping for around 20 March. I don't want to go too early though cos I need DH's 2 weeks off work to seemlessly merge into the school holidays (he's a teacher) so we get 4 weeks... I'm also hiring a TENS machine, used one last time, not sure how much it helped but it did distract me a bit.

3cubs, not long til your scan now, how exciting!

SusieBlue, the heat and humidity really knock me around too, but really this summer could have been a lot worse.

elle-M, so adorable, thanks for posting! Sounds like a great birth too. I've heard that the uterus contracting while feeding is much more painful second baby, I wonder why?

AFM, last week of work, yay! Then next week I still have DS in childcare 3 days, so I can rest and get stuff done. Then I'll be 38 weeks so it can happen any time after that. We got DS's new carseat last week (Maxi Cosi Complete Air - love it) so put that in yesterday and cleaned his old one to get it ready to put in for baby. It was disgusting, there was quite a buildup of raisins and muesli bar crumbs under the fabric! Hospital bag is 90% packed I think. So next week I need to cook some meals to freeze and then I think it's pretty much under control.

Insomnia is starting to get to me, I was awake from about 4am either cold or sweating or being punched from the inside or not able to get comfortable with my sore hips. Finally dropped off around 7am, and DS woke up at 7.20am... yawn! So as much as I'd like to take your advice of sleeping now, elle-M, it's just not happening! I think I'll be having a nanna nap in my office after lunch!

Countdown is on - there are 5 of us in the next month! How exciting! Oh and 4 babies from my DIG (16-31 Mar) have already made an appearance, so it really could be any day for any of us!

Quinston - you poor thing. Hope you are feeling ok today and get better quickly and then have the baby.

alibaba - where to the tens pads go? I have the tens machine but forget where they go.

elle-M
- thanks for sharing the birth story and beautiful photos. Glad to hear that little Rose is doing well.

cubs - hope the morning sickness phase is nearly over. Felt like it lasted forever for me, but it's now better as long as I eat regularly.

suzi
- the heat knocks me around too and I'm not as far along as you.

flyingkiwi
- yay for last week of work. We have to work out car seats at some stage. DD is currently in a SNS Meridian but we will want that for the new baby, so I am leaning towards a BabyLove Ezy combo convertible. We do have a spare seat (SNS, but can't remember which - safeguard?? - that goes up to approx 4yo) that we bought off friends and that we currently use in the other car or with the grandparents but I think we will still need to have it as the spare.

NT result - cubs asked about me this. I must have forgotten to post them in here. NT results were really good, 1:8900 and really nice to get another peek at bubs. Where I do the scans, they give us a little video of the whole scan so DH and I were able to watch it together later (DH couldn't make it). We are really hoping DH can make the morphology scan on 27th March.

AFM - morning sickness finally seems to have left (as long as I eat regularly). Today I caught a little of a cooking show and they made cake. All I want is cake and coffee but DD has the start of a cold (just runny nose so far) so trying not to share it with the rest of the world. I suddenly remembered that I had cake mix in the cupboard because I got 2 boxes to take away with us when we were away for DH's birthday - hooray! Cake is in the oven.

Starting to get a bump now and perhaps the odd flutter at night. Placenta is anterior but the little pulses are to the side so I think they are real (15 weeks). Can't believe that this is my second pregnancy but I still don't know if they are real movements. Little bubba was plenty wriggly at the scans.

Total baby brain the other day and forgot my OB appointment - doh! Didn't even realise that it was that day until I got a phone call. Luckily able to reschedule for tomorrow and DH can come with me. We have to ask about the "period of confinement" letter for DH's paternity leave. DH has changed jobs and at this stage will be based in Darwin from late May, then Sydney from the start of August (due 17 August). There are "rumours" that a South East Queensland base will become available, but it is just a rumour and we don't know when it would be from or if he would even get it for sure. At this stage, the plan is to move down to Sydney after the new babies first vax and pead checkups. I keep crossing my fingers that the SEQ transfer opens up and we don't have to actually move but I am really not looking forward to DH being based everywhere but home for a few months.

Quinston: oh how terrible to have got a gastro bug so late in the pregnancy. I think i had something on sunday but thankfully it passed in 24 hours. Its hard not to worry about the baby in these circumstances. Good thing u went to hospital so they could monitor u for fluids etc. Any day for u now.

Michiemoo; Ive been cooking a bit lately myself. Chocolate crackles which my son isnt that particularly interested in but just likes cooking. Banana cake the other day (an old favourite that always gets eaten). Yesterday I also cooked a butternut risotto for the baby but realised it was a meal for the whole family so we all ate it.

Hi everyone short post today just checking in and trying to keep updated.

Donna how are u going? I assume u are super busy because of work etc. Have u had the morph scan yet? hope it went well.

AFM: Zara has been a bit unwell. I think because she is teething again. Got cabin fever in the house yesterday. We are having so much rain here its terrible. What kind of summer is this?? TOok kids out this morning to Questacon and both had a hoot so that was good to see them stimulated.

That is all.

Hi ladies

Very happy to annouce the arrival of a BOY!

Alasdair Orlando was born today at 12.41pm into water.

Waters broke at 6.30am, contractions started at 10am and then he was born at 12.41.

Home now, looking forward to having a good sleep!
alibaba~81
huge congratulations Quinston on your new baby boy!!!!!! biggrin.gif bbluestork.gif bbluestork.gif bbluestork.gif

Sounds like it was a great birth!!! And I love the name original.gif Hope you're getting a nice rest now and lots of cuddles!! Just missed out on a 29th Feb bub huh?? One day early?

I must say I'm liking the trend of nice quick labours in here! Bring it on!

Mich- There is a pic half way down this page showing placement original.gif http://tensaustralia.com/freeMomTens.asp

BBL for a proper post, was just doing a bit of very timely stalking!!! grin.gif

Beautiful name too. Well done. Looking forward to pics!

Yay Quinston!! Congratulations!! I love the name too. If only I could convince DH to like it!! Sounds like a good labour too!

So P!NK and ali - you're up!!!

I've been feeling a bit off colour this week, took myself to the doctors this morning....but now I'm feeling much better. I've been a bit up and down, so I hope this isn't an up before a down...I'd rather stay up biggrin.gif Bubs seems fine, although the mw did confirm for me on Monday that she is still in breech. My friend told me that girls are in breech more often than boys, and that her little one (born a few months ago) turned late, so I'm still hopeful (also your advice was helpful too Genie!) My next appt is in 3 weeks, and if things are still looking the same, we'll start talking options.

I get newborn cuddles today biggrin.gif My friend had a little girl, Joanna Katherine, on Monday. So excited for her biggrin.gif

3cubs - hope you guys have had some sunshine. Yesterday was Sydneys hottest day all summer, how ironic given summer is about to finish! And it was only the 2nd day above 30 degrees all summer! Thats pathetic!! Its raining again today. I hope Zara is feeling better. DS threw up in the car on Saturday - sick.gif it was awful! - but he doesn't seem sick, so that is a relief.

Michie - Hope you can sort out what is happening with DH soon so you can have some peace of mind. I wasn't certain of movements until 18 weeks with both pgs - and I don't have an anterior placenta! So good to hear that the MS is subsiding.

flyingkiwi - Yay for no more work! Sounds like you are in nesting phase biggrin.gif DS' seat got a good clean on the weekend after his spew - so now our car is sparkly and no longer full of food bits biggrin.gif I'm sure that will change soon... I'm not getting as much sleep as I hoped, but that is more due to DS' nighttime antics than anything else... rant.gif

ali - Shopping went great! We bought so much - new nappy bag, lots of cute clothes for DS and bubs wub.gif I think this baby might actually look like a girl now, the pink is multiplying!!

congratulations Quinston. I hope you're enjoying your newborn snuggles.

Sorry I haven't been around much, organising myself for work & DD for childcare is taking all my concentration. It`s good to see that everyone's tracking nicely. I hope the morning sickness has settled a bit Cubs.

Had my morph scan yesterday, all well but couldn`t tell gender.

Got to go, but will try to get back more often!

Hi ladies,

Sorry I haven't been keeping in touch, but the week I got conjunctivitis, I also ended up with a tummy bug that woke me at 3.30am with severe abdominal cramping every couple of minutes. Needless to say after a couple of hours of that I was freaked out enough to ring the hospital and went to see the OB (although mine was away). Only a bowel upset, nothing to do with bubs, but very scary and a really rough couple of days. Then I ended up with a cold that had me coughing most of the night, so I've barely been keeping my head above water. However, I'm healthy now and planning to stay that way for a while!

Quinston - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Nice to know there is another boy in the group biggrin.gif Sounds like a great labour, although I can't believe how quickly you came home! I like to lap up that hospital room service for a couple of days before I re-enter the real world laughing2.gif

Elle - The pictures are gorgeous! So glad things are going well for you xx

Will try to get back on later to do personals for everyone else - madly trying to rearrange my house / shed etc to create an extra bedroom...

Edited to add - 24 weeks yesterday, YAY!
elle-M
CONGRATULATIONS Quinston on the arrival of your little boy! I love his name and hope you're settling in ok at home. How are you going with sleep and feeding etc.?

Sorry I've been MIA, came down with a nasty bout of mastitis so am on antibiotics. I'm feeling better now but the day it hit was horrible, felt like a bad flu with aches, chills, shivering, sweating and my temp was 40 degrees. And SUCH a sore right boob. YUCK! Anyway, on the mend now but just trying to rest up.

Elle-M: Sorry to hear that u had a bad case of Mastitis. I had it a number of times with ds1 and was sick as a dog on particular case for at least it week. I totally sympathise. Glad your feeling better now. How is Rose settling in? Rose is Zara's second middle name. Yes im greedy when it comes to names.

Donna: Good to hear from u. Must have been great to see the baby again.

Genie: sounds like u have been in the wars glad u are better again.

flyingkiwi: yay for updating the list.

AFM: Well just lost all my breakfast. Boo HOo! Usually I vomit in the night time but this morning I tried to take my vitamins again and then had my breakfast and within 20 minutes it call came back up again. Its so upsetting. I dont know whether i should contact the OB or GP and tell them i havent been able to keep my vitamins down incl the little ifolic tablets throughout the pregnancy. But ive kind of left it a bit late as im approaching 12 weeks. Probably should have said something earlier. Have just been hopping that the food i do keep down has enough folate etc. I eat reasonably well most of the time.
Well only 3 days till my scan YAY! I was really hoping to get some idea of gender through the nub theory but am starting to lose hope in its effectiveness to tell so probably wont be none the wiser. But all the same its going to be good to see the baby all grown up since my quick look at 7.5 weeks in the OB's office.

ph34r.gif Ali, P!NK...

AFM, officially finished work on Thursday but didn't quite get everything done, so came in for a few hours yesterday and came in this morning to finish sorting through one more pile of stuff and clean the desk. But mostly came in for morning tea, so that's ok. Plus Max's childcare is on site, so it's not exactly out of the way. But I'm pretty sure I'm done now and don't plan on coming back.

Max has started sleeping in his big boy bed, it's been 4 nights now and mostly gone ok. Two mornings DH had to get in with him around 6am to keep him in bed. We only started because he was fighting the sleeping bag, so I figured if we were going to go to sheets and blankets it may as well be in the bed. So it's great to have him out of the cot in plenty of time (don't need it until baby is around 4 months, because we have a moses basket). Yay. Unfortunately showing no signs of TT happening any time soon though...
alibaba~81
Hi guys, sorry, attempting to post from phone. No baby update here, can't believe inly 3 days til edd!! Plenty of prelabour, so hoping it won't take too long when it happens! We lost power on friday due to winds, came back on 2 dys later and realised we also had no phone connection- still a couple of days away apparently. So a bit frustrated here, especially as uni is now back and I have lectures to listen to etc- would be good to make a start before bubs arrives!!

Flyingkiwi- thanks for updating the lisy! Could be you next! When did max arrive? Lucy was v close to 42 weeks
..

P!NK- How are you???

Elle and Quinston, how are ypu both going?

3cubs- All the best for your scan!! Hope you start feeling better soon xo

Ok eill leave it there and hope it works! Will post properly when we have internet again!!
3cubs
Thought Id come and check in and see how u are all going?? Ali wow u are close, u never know it could surprise u and come soon.

flyingkiww" yeah for having one day of work left. WOO HOO!!

Quinston: how is your newborn cuddles going? Im sure u are pretty busy settling him in at the moment. Hope its all going well.

AFM: 12 weeks and about 3 days and havent had my NT scan. Did have it booked for Monday but cancelled as I really wanted to have it at the fetal med unit as they can monitor it a bit more closely to make sure we dont have another baby with CDH. As a result of trying to book late.. I cant get my scan till next Thursday. Boo hoo. I will be 13 weeks and 5 or 6 days the very latest u can have an NT scan but might as well wait now as Ive missed my Monday appt. I suppose the baby will be nice and big next thursday at least. Was just a bit upset thoguh yday when i found out how late my appointment is.. but they are super busy and apparently i should feel lucky that they squeezed me in. biggrin.gif
I will have to check how the ttcing in breasfeeding group is going as we will need more grads here.. we are a dying breed!!
SusieBlue
Hi girls biggrin.gif Stalking for baby news! Ali - it sounds like I won't have to wait long!! ph34r.gif

3cubs - its a bummer you have to wait a little while longer to see your little one again, but it sounds like a good decision to go through the Fetal Med Unit original.gif

flying kiwi - Yay for finishing work!! Its great that Max has taken to the big bed too. Because we have the cot set up in Ashers room for when the baby comes (they'll be sharing) Asher has taken to climbing out of the big bed and into the cot for sleeps! So the big bed has been a big fail for us. We're thinking of taking the mattress out so he might stop wanting to sleep in there (DH seems reluctant to pull it apart completely, when he'll have to put it back together again anyway...) I don't know if that will deter him though. Yesterday afternoon he fell asleep on the floor in his room, and last night he fell asleep on top of the change table ohmy.gif What a strange child. I'm hoping he's a little more settled in his sleeping location when the baby comes! At least the baby will be in the bassinet in our room for a few months, so we have a bit longer!!

elle - Hope your mastitis has cleared up original.gif

Genie - so glad to hear that you have overcome the sickness. It sounds like you were really in the wars!!

AFM - feeling pretty good. I got to see my friends newborn last week, she was the same size Asher was when he was born - and she looked tiny! I can't believe I'll have another one of my own soon. Thankfully I've been feeling much better since last week - its much easier to function when you feel well!
I've just got Asher out of his room after an hour and a half - he was quiet for most of that time, but eventually started whinging. I always worry when he skips a sleep during the day because I worry it might be the beginning of the end unsure.gif I want him to hang onto day sleeps for a few more months if possible!!
elle-M
ph34r.gif .....

All good with us! MAstitis has cleared up and I'm feeling SO much better. Attempted a trip to the shops today with both kids (and DH!) and it was a disaster. Screaming baby, poo explosion, feeding in front seat of car etc. You've just got to laugh biggrin.gif
