Booby prize...midwife has just been and says the baby is round a little, so not quite posterior now, very long and measuring 40 weeks...I'm ready Tigs! Had quite a few contractions while she was here but bubba seems to be staying in for now:-)
Hi all - a very late joiner as I'm due 25 Dec but magically hoping things will happen this week to avoid getting too close to Christmas. The baby is measuring a few days ahead of it's dates according to my 35w scan.
My OB will be doing a cervix check at the end of the week which will be 39w for me.
Hope you don't mind me joining you - looks like the 16-31 Dec group isn't active on EB.
Congratulations to all the babies so far - and so many beautiful names.

Hi all,
Status quo here... Still feeling unwell but no other signs that bubs is ready for his first public appearance

He's just sitting in there hiccuping away. Surely it has to be pretty squishy by now! DH is on leave now so he is feeling the pain of sitting around waiting with me, lol. On the plus side he has been quite the handyman today, fixing the hot water tap in the bathroom, putting up a coat rack in the nursery, and cleaning up the garden. Bless him.
Was hoping for more baby news too - we haven't had one for a few days now.
Welcome
BCL! Look forward to getting to know you

How's everyone else feeling?

Sheri, we crossed over...I am so sad, I was sure you were going to go today:-) I'm feeling a bit manky too but not translating to baby sadly...at least you have someone to keep you company:-) We will just have to wait together!
LOL Pandorasbox, surely you guys have to get there before me.
I have been having all the usual symptoms though as most of you too - cramps, lots of toilet time, mega tiredness the last 3 days but today it seems to have taken a break. Doesn't feel like this little one is in any hurry though.

Adagio congratulations

Sorry to hear you ended up needing an emergency CS, are you recovering okay? Can't wait to hear all the news and I agree completely with Jacqui, we need more pictures of these babies. Bring on the extra cluckiness for me, imght help get things moving!
Welcome
BCL I for one am very happy that someone due Dec 25th is joining our group. Hopefully that means I won't be the last one standing
jazzy I am with you for trying anything, we are having curry for dinner tonight!
jacqui Thanks for your reply in the allergy thread. I had to laugh when I read your dog is allergic to beef! I've never heard of such a thing. I am heading to an organic butcher at the local markets we normally frequent this weekend and to see what he has to offer in the way of 'natural' sausages. I looked at them last time, they are $3 each! DS is lucky he a) only eats one sausage per meal and b) that we can still afford it even when he ups his requirements to 2

AFM- I had a bit of a show and lost a bit of my plug this morning

Actually had a bit of a 'niggle' on and off for an hour or so last night as well. I didn't have *any* prelabour signs with DS, so I am really hoping this is a sign that my body is trying to evict this little critter. My due date is today and I am all set to go! My Mum has been ringing twice a day
Just quick - time is short! Had "Harley Christopher" on Sat at 10.07pm, 2 hour active labour after having waters broken at 8pm, pushed him out in 2 pushes with no tearing!! Crazy. He was a massive 8lb1oz (3.66kg) and 52cm which is mammoth compared to my last 2 6lb babies!!
I put up with 2 days of posterior pre-labour back contractions which was a killer, when he finally turned into the right position as we got to the birth centre on Saturday and waters bulging, the middy decided to break the waters to allow labour to start, so once started it was all very quick.
All is well, we came home Sunday morning so a longer stay than last time with Levi (DS2), but the peace and quiet at the Birth Centre was too appealing as we had a house full of visitors that weekend! Toby is at work today so first time on my own with all 3 and so far so good

Will hopefully get some time to come in and read everyone's news soon!

Hmm I like the sound of a 2 hour active labour
clrw omg Tobey is just gorgeous. I love the one of him just after he was born, it always amazes me babies look so peaceful and content after going through something which must be a bit on the traumatic side!
Jacqui- Fingers crossed tonight is the night for you! I have been having niggly contractions on and off the last couple of hours, very sporadic, irregular and quite mild. I have decided after only one day of prelabour symptoms that "I don't like it" (to quote a certain 2.5yr old's favourite words) and that I much prefer just waking up in labour. My midwife however seems to think I will be calling her overnight, so let's see!
Well I am going to head to bed early tonight incase this actually goes somewhere-- might be good to get a bit of rest behind me. DH meanwhile is thrilled, not because I might be going in to labour, but because I am going to bed early so he can jump online and play xbox with his friends uninterrupted for a few hours

Pandora - good luck to you too! Hopefully those contractions establish and you're in labour soon.
Travelmum and
Jazzy - we'll get there eventually...
I'm still here. Same old, same old today. Lots of contractions that never go anywhere, still feeling very nauseous and have a headache... I started to get some lower back pain as well, but I think it is just related to my big belly rather than to contractions. I'm seeing the OB tomorrow so hopefully she will weave her magic and get things happening. No-one called or texted me today - I think they have all given up, lol

We actually have our big family Christmas this Sunday, so it's not looking hopeful that I'll be able to go.
We're all nearly there girls! Keep your chins up

Congrats to all the new mummies!
Is anyone else who is breastfeeding find they are starving all the time? I hardly ate anything extra (besides meals) while pregnant and now I want to eat all day long. Of course I want stuff I shouldn't eat!
I lost 10kg after I had the baby so I actually weigh less then I did before I was pregnant and I don't really want to put any back on but I'm just so damned hungry!
Hannah is doing well, putting on weight, 80g in 4 days at the last weigh in. She still weighs less then my other 4 did at birth though and she's 3 weeks old now! She is the best baby, hardly ever cries, but of course still sleeping better during the day then at night.
Pandorasbox all the false alarms must be getting to you, hope the wait is over soon.
I hope the ones still waiting all have their babies before Christmas! I'm surprised how many from our group ended up being overdue actually!

Kind of crossing my legs now for the next 3 days lol, as my cousin gets married on Sat and DD is a flower girl. Maybe it will come on Sunday

Still stalking for news of more babies! So hard to believe that Declan is 8 days old already! Been a whirlwind week!
Jazzy - oh so cute, your DD as a flower girl. Hope you make it to the wedding and then bub comes promptly after
Bendy - wow, go you for being less than pre-pregnancy weight!! I have lost 5kg so far, about 6 to go so not too bad. I find when I am tired my appetite is the first thing to go so am not remembering to eat much at all

Might not take too long to lose the rest ha ha.
Thinking of all you ladies waiting and dealing with the pre-labour and stop start symptoms. Hope it all happens for you soon!

So yesterday, as a surprise, my Mum turns up from New Zealand. She obviously booked her tickets ages ago fully expecting that she would be meeting her new grandson. She goes home on Sunday... Pressure!!! But so lovely to have her here for support. I haven't been planning on having her in the birthing suite, so will have to rethink that (if and when the time actually comes), but I'm pretty sure I just want DH in with me.
Had a S&S yesterday which resulted in lots of cramping overnight, but nothing else. My BP was really high for some reason (165/82) and they started to talk about inducing me straight away but luckily it came down to 140/79 over the course of about an hour. I have to go back in tomorrow for monitoring.
DH and I are going to stay at MIL's with my Mum for tonight and she doesn't have internet - how am I going to cope without checking EB for a whole 24 hours??!!!!
Hmmm, yes where is
deejie? And
goldenblack? And
Kosmel?
Jazzy and
Pandora - any exciting news to report???
Bec_M - 8 days old already? So hard to believe... You'll have to tell us more about what he's like.
Bendy - great job on the weight loss! I've now put on 17kg (was only 49kg to start with) so really not sure how or if I'll be able to get rid of it, but you have given me hope

Good luck everyone who's still waiting. Happy contracting!

Dear all.
Tegan Artemisia Ceilidh was born on the red moon eclipse on Saturday (cool eh!). Not sure if this image link will work...those are her father's hands. Tegan is a
big girl.
I have not been able to post as she ended up a hospital emergency, and I have only just been discharged to go home.
Tegan, though, is perfect and while the birth is something that still upsets me to think about, she is feeding very well. She's 54 cm and 9lbs7, and unfortunately she was too big, and I was a bit too small for it all. The midwife I wasn't getting on with reckoned she'd be 6lbs at the most, but anyway. I did go into labour spontaneously just before I was due to be induced, and managed a few hours in the birth center in posterior labour before it all stalled and eventually became an emergency. Thankfully, mostly for me, not Tegan, who while she got tired, came out screaming and fed within literally seconds of life.
The people around who were working on me told my husband: What a big boy!
His response was: She's a girl!
He later admitted to me he'd been secretly hoping the whole time for a girl, but hadn't wanted to tell anyone because he would have loved a boy as well. But he was thrilled and while I was asleep and they were working on me he went out to show her off in the corridor.
My goth cred is now very good as I have now consumed several pints of other people's blood. I did have a lovely midwife for the birth itself who was wonderfully reassuring, but it just turned out that 'little' Tegan is going to be a very tall person like her very tall father
I will come back and review things later, see how you all are! I'm very, very weak and will be on rest for a few weeks, and it will take a few months to recover from the surgery, but I am alive, and Tegan is a very cute baby (in my opinion - I was asked what I thought by a midwife a couple of days after birth and I said 'She doesn't even LOOK like Winston Churchill'...)
I have photos but will need to work out how to attach them later.

Deejie! Congratulations chickie, so glad you had the homebirth you were hoping for! Can't wait to hear how DH performed and whether he is a convert yet:-) Was DS pleased "he had a doodle"? Anyway, can't wait to hear the whole story, enjoy the cuddles and congratulations.
Sheri, there was hardly anything of you to begin with and you look just fine in your photos now so I wouldn't be stressed at all if I were you.
AFM, mild contractions ongoing, started again early this morning, but I have stopped thinking this is a sign of anything!:-)
Golden, just saw your post, so sorry you had all that drama but so pleased to hear little Tegan is such a cutie and Daddy is so happy...awesome news. Hopefully you can relax and try not to think about anything but how wonderful your baby is for a while. Congratulations! What a beautiful name by the way;-)

Congrats Deejie!! Can't wait to hear more about your little man when you are up to it. Enjoy the newborn snuggles! I loved mine with DS. Didn't get skin to skin time with DD (stupid hospital gown). Awww yay - a little brother for Liam! How is he going with him?
GB - wow, sounds like you had a rough time! Glad to hear all is well with Tegan though! I hope you recover ok. Lol at your DP secretly wanting a girl - DH was the same when I was pregnant with DD. There is something about daddies and their little girls. DH was a goner the minute he saw her.
Sheri - how lovely to see your mum! Such a shame bub hasn't arrived yet! Fingers crossed it happens so she can meet him. DS is a pretty good bub. Still sleeps better during the day than at night but last night wasn't too bad. Hungry little boy - feeds a lot and I think my supply is still trying to catch up.

15/12/2011, 04:44 PM
So glad to hear about all the new babies! Congrats!
Just thought I'd pop in quickly. We scraped in on the 15th after going into labour on my due date yesterday. What an adventure and a blur! Hours and hours of intense short prelabour contractions yesterday followed by a big ramping up in the wee hours, fast and furious labour and I delivered just a minute or so after my midwife realised I was fully dilated. I was on another planet at the time but apparently my body took over and knew just what to do anyway.
Tobias weighed in at a sizable 3.9kg and has been mostly settled and feeding well. So weary now and trying to catch up on sleep...
Solidarity sisters. Hope the next few days are kind to you all and your precious new ones.

Hi everyone
Looks like i am going to miss the 15 th window after everyone( MWs included) hoping I would make it to 38 weeks to now going over by 5days and still no sign, I feel like I have been preggers for ever. I had montioring yesterday and have to go back tomorrow for more they are talking about inducing Monday if I still havn;t gone .I had a panic attack last night watching one born every minute when they started talking about the pain and burning feeling it brought all the memories of DS2 back and I got scared about the labour for the first time ,up until then in a crazy way I felt in control and ready for this again, to late now through.
Pandorasbox - Sounding very good for you to have bubby in your arms soon wishing you all the best.
Is there anyone besides me still waiting
Pandorasbox
15/12/2011, 07:21 PM
Sheri is still waiting too, don't worry - and nothing since a little trickle - so probably I'll still be here with you tomorrow:-)
You can refuse monitoring and induction by the way, maybe just get an ultrasound to check the placenta if you get to 42 weeks...I'll send you some links if you like. 5 days over is no reason to start pumping you full of drugs, etc:-)
sandymort76
16/12/2011, 12:09 AM
Thanks for the advice Pandorasbox good to know not the only one left sorry if thats sounds selfish .I think I am going to be Ok if they say they want to induce on monday as I am starting to get worried that everything is Ok with bubs we have waited so long to have a girl after the 2 boys that everytime I don't feel her move enough or if moments really increase the mind starts to play.It was bad enough on Weds when MW used the doppler and Bub heart rate decreased quite low and they put me on the machine to check for 30 mins, everything was Ok but I think I would have agreed to inducement then and there even through inducing has been one of the last things I wanted after Emerg C/S with DS1.
We are going public as well and I am sure that they will push to get me in and out before Xmas but I a bit older now and hopfully be able to stand up for myself if it doesnt feel right.
Lets hope we all get to cuddle with our bubs really soon so it wont be a issue anyway.
Thanks
