hey there

this is a request for my girlfriend who has 10 week old twins, i have 4 month old twin boys who are really easy to look after so i'm not much use to my girlfriend so thought best to check with you guys if someone had the same problem.

she is currently at trescilian trying to get one of her babies to sleep without having to be nursed 24 hours a day but it really isn't working there and she is not sure as to what to do next.

has anyone had any success with one twin that is a handful and if so where did you go?? she is in sydney and would be grateful for any bit of advice.

thanks heaps

tanya

Hi There,
That was me 4 weeks ago with my twin girls...They were 10wks old too...I went to Tresillion at Penrith for help & found them excellent...Its a shame she isn't finding Tresillion helpful but it isn't for everyone...
My main problem with Karli (she was the problem child...lol) was I was over feeding her so she was irritable & super unsettled by 4pm & screamed from then until close to 12 midnight...So once I was explained how it was like her having xmas dinner every feed & then being super uncomfortable thus causing the unsettled behaviour & cut her amounts I was feeding her down she settled much easier...At first she was still screeching for me to rock/nurse/pat her to sleep as that was what she was used to...They showed me how to settle in the cot & not pick her up (unless she was really unsettled & then it was a quick cuddle until she stopped & back into bed) but do 'hands on' while she was laying in her cot...Hand stroking her forehead & the other hand stroking her belly/front...It really did calm her down just having me there in the room with her...I only had to do this for the first 3 days & only in the afternoon during the witching period...It became less & less as the days went on until she self settled beautifully & still does now 4 weeks on...
If I think of anything else I will come back...I hope she finds some peace & help soon...
Take care,
Jaki
