hi there

i need some advice, noah and caleb are nearly 4 months old and currently are on 5 feeds a day. There last feed is at 6pm, i used to try to wake them for a feed at say 10pm but they were just too sleepy so now i let them sleep till they are ready to feed again.

at the moment they wake at 1.30am for a feed which is fine but then they are only sleep for a bit and are awake again at 4, then 5 wanting their next feed.

what did you guys do with your babies, did you try to increase their feed, they are on 150 mils at the moment, did you try to do a late feed , or are they just a bit unsettled at this age???

feeling a bit tired at the moment as this has been going on for over a week and not sure what i should do with their feeds!!! HELP!!!

thanks heaps

tanya, noah and caleb

Hi Tanya,

Firstly your boys are just beautiful.

My two were still on the 10.30-11pm feed until they were about 7 months old.

We used to wake them up change them, which usually woke, them up and then fed them. This usually gave us a good block of sleep.

It seems that your boys are having a good 7&1/2 hours of sleep but probably at not such a good time for you. So, maybe keep persisting with the 10.30 feed then maybe you will get a good 7 hours sleep after that.

Unfortunately everyone is different and you just have to keep trying to see what works for you.

Hope you get some sleep soon, Take care.

Ali

hi ali

thanks for your advice, i've started the 3rd night with waking them at 10pm for a feed, they are not sleeping more than 5 hours after that but at least once they feed at 3am they then sleep till 6.30 or 7am.
