But their choice.

I saw in the paper a Wynter Rain (and we have been having the most beautiful sunny Autumn days!)
Blue is OK, better than Payshince, but better as a middle name

I like Blue. I know a Bleu... Same pronunciation.
My friend named her boy Jack and her girl Dee. Their last name is Frost. She has a wicked sense of humor but I think playing the joke on your kids is taking it too far...

To me - parents that inflict these names on their kids are somewhat cruel. For the rest of their life - they have to spell it. Also - it really screams "MY PARENTS ARE ILLITERATE"

Hmm... Do you live in the Hills District? If so, baby "Blue" is my friend's son.
FWIW his middle name is "Frankie", and rest-assured... his parents are very highly educated and far from illiterate or cruel, etc.

Seriously, and I hate to admit this but DS1 almost named Tiara

. I was 16 at the time and thought it was so pretty! But we were all into names like 'Krystal' and 'Taysharna' back then LMAO! I didn't actually know what a tiara was!

I worked with a girl who went by Tiarra. Her name was Eden Tiarra, but Eden was also her mother.
I just realised that I like I spelt something wrong in my earlier post.
Ceanna is said Shanna, and Cianna is Sienna. I get very confused

no im not, so there must be 2 of them.
Im trying to decide what I think, its not dreadful & i have seen much worse, but im not sure if I love it either. Not a name I would choose, but my kids have very traditional names which im sure a lot of people would just think are boring

That's strange... you're in Baulkham Hills (North West), no?? That's the "Hills District", so I'm pretty sure it's the same "Blue"...
Anyway, TBH I'm not a huge fan of it as a first name but much rather it over any stock standard, run-of-the-mill, insanely popular or over-used type names.

One local here is Phoenix (not too bad) Rampage . Now if the little boy turns out to be a handful I guess he will be living up to his middle name

I just reembered an old workmate of mine had a daughter and her mn was blu - i think her first name is Ella, she would be around 8 now.
As for the mn Danger - i think Matt Rogers has son with this MN - I thnk his first name is Max and i remember reading in the paper maybe a year ago about some couple who had twin boys and they gave both of them the middle name danger just so they could say... danger is my middle name

I dont mind it. Its certainly not terrible. Plus I like 4 letter names. My kids have rather traditional names in the Irish vain all with 4 letters.
A lady at work named her boy Steal. At first I thought what the hell but its definitely grown on me and it seems to suit him.

It's Welsh actually
When I see some of the names that people call their kids, I really wish we had a system like the Danes where the government has the right of veto over names. I recollect one Irish family living in Denmark who had to get special dispensation because they wanted to call their daughter an Irish name (Aoife, Irish for Eve and pronounced ee-fa, or Sinead) and it obviously wasn't on the list. They were allowed to because the name was a common and established Irish name.
My belief about names is that you let kids develop their own personality rather than having it foisted upon them because you wanted them to be uneek.
