have been wondering if I shoild take my two to the doctor. They are still really happy but are very congested. Snot monster is no longer clear he has a nice green tinge although they are not coughing so it is not in their chest. seems just like a headcold. Have been giving them demazin. can anyone suggest any good cold medicines. Maddy and Tiahna are 14 months old. I just don't want to take them out of the house for the doctor to tell me to buy off the shelf Medicine IYKWIM

My two were sick a few weeks back and I too took them as the snot monster had turned green. I had always thought this meant infection but the doctor said not necessarily so. An hour in the waiting room by myself telling the kids NOT to touch the horribly germy doctors toys!!!
Hope your 2 get better soon and are being nice to mummy...

The way I understand it is that green/yellow does mean infection, however is is only treatable with antibiotics if it is bacterial. Many snotty noses are viral and antibiotics don't kill viruses...

Hope the girls are better soon :-)
