Hi all

Have 61/2 mnth girl twins, one of whom always refuses the bottle!!
They are breastfed, so have been trying expressed milk, but she just
plays with the teat. My husband has been trying to feed her for the last
2 months on the weekends, but with no luck (although it's usually only
one feed he tries for). I just want to be able to leave them both for 1/2
a day a couple of times a week.

Anyone have any tips/tricks that might help? They are eating solids
twice a day after their breastfeed, but I think they're a little young to
miss a feed yet........

Thanks

you may have already tried this but have you changed the teet on the bottle. Maybe she doesn't like the shape. Not really sure I never really had this problem but I can guarentee someone on here has!

Yes, I've tried the pigeon & avent teats - the problem is she won't suck on
anything but the breast!! She's never even taken the dummy! The only way
I've got her to take the bottle is if I stick her on the breast first, then
switch the nipple with the teat. Doesn't make it any easier for anyone else
to do, though!!

One of my girls was the same wouldn't take bottle till around 9 or 10 months. Wouldn't have a dummy either. Give her a break for a week or two then get your husband to give her the first feed of the day usually when they are the most hungry. You might have a little more success. Good luck Rebecca

I too had this problem with one of mine. I tried all the teats but didn't have any luck. My only success (sorry to say) was when she was old enough to have cows milk from a cup. It may be a little early, but maybe you could try a sipper cup or straw cup(make sure the valve isn't too strong though because it makes it too much effort to get the milk out.)
It is a very frustrating problem for you. You must be exhausted and maybe even feeling a bit trapped. Goodluck. original.gif
