I'm searching for a little black dress that meets the following criteria;

Able to be dressed up or down
Is available in size 12 (but has generous room in bust)
Is reasonably priced (hoping to keep it below $100 if possible)
Preferably in Sydney so that I can try it on

There are many on asos.com but I'm a little scared of buying a dress online without being able to try it on first. I have also looked in Myer but didn't find anything that amazed me.

Are there any amazing shops in the Sydney area that have escaped my attention?

TIA

Try Target, or red circle boutique biggrin.gif . I have picked up some very nice dresses over the years.

Have a look at events, I think they are in myer though. Price would be over $100

I got a nice one from Jigsaw a few years ago but was $$$.

Metallicus have some really nice dresses. I never looked at their stuff as very expensive and I felt too 'big'. I popped in there one afternoon and found a lot of things. I got a bright purple dress with flutter sleeves and cross over ruffle skirt that can be dressed up down and very trans-seasonal. Was on sale for $99. Not sure if it came in black though. Definately pop in there and see what there is on offer. I am a 14 at the moment, about a 14D and generous in the booty department. I was really surprised but what they had on offer. I couldn't wear the tops alone, too many lumps and bumps on show but layered with other things/ under other tops they are great. I really love the dress, very flattering. Not sure if the dress would still be in stores.

Try Leona Edmiston - her ruby line is cheaper and they are really comfy too.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I have convinced DP to go shopping with me in the city next week so I'll have a look for those brands.

I was at DFO out at Homebush today and there were LOADS of little black dresses there.

It sucked, as I was also there to buy a dress on the cheap, but I already own far too many LBDs and wanted something a little different.

yeah target is really good... they have improved so much over the past two years!
