Mags - I'm sending my best wishes for your loss and BFP!
AFM - back up to 7.25k today. Still a loss from this time last week and I really have been a lot better this week. Which I guess wasn't hard given how terrible I was the week before!!!
This week I will:
-Take everything I am going to eat to the football
-Exercise exactly to my plan
-Be careful when eating socially and NOT say "don't worry, I'll exercise it off" because remember bozo, you aren't able to get on the spin bike or swim or run very far or do any of those high calorie burning exercises!!! /end rant-at-self

Hmmm one of the worst times of the year...Easter... how to avoid those choccy eggs. actually its the hot cross buns that are really testing my patience this year...
Have bought some TF low carb choccy so hope to feed my craving with this instead. As for the hot cross buns well....

so far so good. Im strong but i dont know how strong i can be if one is passed under my nose all warm with butter melting on it......
Hows everyone else resisting temptation this easter?
Good luck !

Well this week and Weekend has just been a big flop for me, I can almost guarantee that I've put weight on with all the good food that's been around me and all the chocolate and hot x buns YUM!!! But as of Tuesday ill be straight back to strict foods and the gym..

Oh well starting tomorrow Ill snap back in to it and start healthy eating and getting to the gym everyday.

Boobies for me?
I agree with you all, Easter is pretty hard!! Although I have to say that I did quite well, not one hot cross bun, only for lack of opportunity, as I love them!! Also lucky for me my family don't exchange eggs so I only had a few little ones that people brought to work.
Haven't done much exercise though but weight is down just a bit to 96.3. I'll take it.
Mags, I have to admit I lurk in ttc 1 and I am so sorry to hear about your aunt. It sounds like you will miss her dearly.
Us5 - good luck getting back into it this week, I imagine it's hard with kids at Easter.
Claire - how did you go with your alternative treats? Did it help at all?
Afm - as I said not much exercise for me, nothing since Monday unless you count housework and garage cleanouts. But I have been eating well, good portions and not too many extras. So tomorrow I'll get back to the gym and try to keep eating well.
Anyone have a thread question idea?
I'll start with 'what are some ideas for rewards for achieving small weight loss goals? I'd like to aim for 3kg loss in May and would like to have a reward for if I do that and something even better for if I do more!!
Enjoy the end of the loooong weekend everyone!!

Thanks
keenbean. I think a lot of people IRL don't really understand why it's such a blow to me but my mummy was a single parent and we lived as an extended family so I was raised by my Gran and my aunt, she was a second mum to me and I will miss her terribly.
Also, take whatever loss you can,
keenbean, it all adds up
I have hit it hard core this week, I'm doing Musashi protein shakes and dinner whenever I'm home for the foreseeable future and minimal carb, high protein food on those other days. I'm also hitting the exercise DVD's. I have two Core Fusion DVD's and I'm going to be doing them religiously. I have developed quite a 'thing'
.gif)
for the male presenter - Frank DeVito and I've decided I'm going to get addicted. There is just something about his voice and the way he speaks that has me begging for more of that aching burning muscle pain and inability to move the second day. I'm loving the style of the exercises - a mix of Lotte Birk, pilates and yoga, they really hit my spot of quiet strength and endurance.
I did the Body Sculpt today (50 minutes) and tomorrow I'm going to really hit my pain barrier - doing both the Bootcamp AND the Body Sculpt. I anticipate being completely immobile on Friday.
My small loss reward will probably be a pj day one day of the weekend - reading trashy novels.
Hi to all

Oooh actually, have though of a better reward - if I lose 3-5kgs in May I shall buy myself a book (not that special event in itself, book buying is a bit of a hobby).
The Mayo Clinic Pregnancy one is meant to be really rather good and with the AUD$ so high it'll be cheap as chips.

Good Morning all,
Yay I'm down to 72.2!
Claire - I have no idea how I did it but I have managed to only have one hot cross bun (about a month ago when they first came out) two mini eggs and a 100g bunny that I was given. Not too bad I reckon! Don't ask me how though - I just didn't get the cravings... How did you go?
Us5 -

You'll be right on track again in no time. Easter is the devil! hehe.
keenbean - I absolutely would count the cleanups - lot of hard work involved! Well done on your loss. Every little bit counts.
Mags - you are making me exhausted just reading! Inspired me to get back on the exercise plan though - I have been slack. It's the only one of my goals for this week that I have failed miserably. Did a run on Monday and resistance Tuesday and then - nothing - again - yesterday. Will do something tonight. Great idea for a reward.
AFM - very happy with my loss - had a few days of borderline good eating and the losses weren't showing up but I'm very happy with 72.2. I think I'll set a goal of <70 and when I get to that I will buy a punnet of strawberries. (I know that's not huge but I hate paying $5 a punnet so only buy them on special, but I love them!)
keenbean
28/04/2011, 08:20 AM
Mags - thats a great idea about the book. I love books and stopped buying them a few years ago and started just borrowing them from the library. I have a book in mind I wanted to get so I will make that my mini treat!!
AIW- congrats on the loss! I think managing a loss at Easter is very encouraging, surely it will be easier after!! You will definitely deserve some strawberries if you get under 70!!

all.
You're going super well there Alice - very motivating.
Am happy to report that am feeling really rather swell today - no tenderness or movement impediment due to lactic acid build up - clearly I'm a tad fitter than I thought.
So today, definitely doing the bootcamp dvd and the body sculpt, and I'll use proper weights for the upper body bit (rather than 500g cans of soup).
Has anyone heard of T-Tapp?

Good morning girls,
I've written so many posts for this thread, but everytime I post it, it doesn't work. Something in the universe doesn't like me!
I've been shocking - absolutely SHOCKING with my efforts. I've yo yo'd around for a bit, but I've just eaten the last of the little easter eggs

so I finally feel that I'm ready to knuckle down.
The most I've been is 120.7kg and today I weighed 119.8kg. So a loss of 900g - I'll take it.
Finally - everytime I try to add a ticker it doesn't work

if anyone can help me with that I'd be sooo thankful! I want to watch the weight fall off!

Fairy - good to see you back, and I remember when I did my ticker I did it on lilyslim and then it gives you a URL but you only paste a portion of it into your sig. I think there's an instruction thread pinned in one of the forums but I'll go to my sig and find an example.
I'm off to fill in a few hours shopping in the city, the credit card might get a good workout, does that count?

Keenbean T-tapp is an exercise system (founded by Teresa Tapp = T-tapp) but it's focus isn't really weight loss, much more about rehabilitation and re-alignment of the body and neuro pathways but most people end up losing quite a bit of centimeters as their muscles tighten up. It's also quite helpful with a number of health issues - back back/knees, thyroid and hormonal things and can be done by anyone at any age. I have found that it works really, really fast for slimming down but it takes a bit longer to get the same results once you stop (for an extended period of time) and start up again - bit like anything I guess. The best bit (for me) is that there's a 15 minute routine so it's easy to fit it into a full day or to other exercises. It's mail order from the US. I sound like I'm flogging the stuff, don't I? I'm not so I shall stop now.
I actually managed a 200g loss this week!! Yay! Very motivated to keep going with my exercise dvds.

Been a couple of weeks since I
Posted... Have been in Bali on hols. Was awesome fun but was dreading stepping on the scales afterwards after all the delish Balinese food I'd been scoffing down. But I'm at 81.9kg today which is only A gain of 1kg which I am surprised (and happy!) at.
Back to proper eating this week and gym. Still a way to go till my goal. Good luck to everyone else.

Hi all!
Mags - your exercise is so inspiring! You do so many different things! I hadn't heard of T-tapp but it sounds great. Woohoo on another loss for you!
Fairey - great to see you. I'm no good with tickers - hopefully the other girls can help. Well done on your loss
Keanbean - credit card workouts soooo count!
Us5 - Whoa! 2.8kgs is fantastic!
Molly - welcome back! 1kg is great given you have been on holidays....
AFM - bad bad week. Had a bad day at work on Thursday and I procrastinated on a task so much that I was running a real bad deadline, then decided to have a whole spinach and cheese pide for lunch. Then told myself I'd only have vegetables for dinner, which I did not! Then last night DF felt like take out so we had vietnamese. And I had 1.5 entrees and two very large serves of meat and fried rice. Ouch! And I haven't exercised properly since Tuesday.
ETA - had KFC for lunch yesterday. That's right girls, K.... F...... C...... to top off a yucky week!
Today has been better, still no exercise - things just weren't happening for me. But have eaten well. We are going out for dinner tonight, but I will be on my best behaviour, promise!
Back up to 72.9 which probably isn't so bad given my bad eating there's at least 0.5kg in water retention from all the salty foods. Hoping for the best this week. Really not feeling that motivated, just stuck in one of those moments where you have to lecture yourself and say, yes I know you don't want to, but it is good for your health and you will be happy about it when the wedding pics are fantastic.
Ok, off to lecture myself a little more....

Us 5 - you're a gun! Go you and and you're amazing weight loss!
GGM - only putting on 1kg is good - well done!
AFM - haha! Ticker sorted!! And though I want to lose around 40kg plus - I thought that may be a little daunting... so I've put 20, and then will do another one for the next 20... here we go!
keenbean
03/05/2011, 08:50 AM
GGM - welcome back, sounds like you had a great holiday and I agree, only 1kg is good.
Fairy - I'm with you, I would have to lose 23kg to be at my 'healthy' weight but I just put an amount I thought would make me feel good and not be too daunting.
Afm - back to 97.3

I haven't been eating too badly but the gym has been closed so I've only been doing house and yard stuff. Went to the gym this morning but still closed today, open again tomorrow. Ive been thinking about doing lite and easy, just for a month, to help me and especially dh get the portions thing going. I hate the idea of it really, ideally I'd exercise regularly, stop when I'm full and eat healthily but I'm easily distracted and I wondered if I just had a boost to get going... What do you guys think?
MagsJee
03/05/2011, 09:20 AM
Hi keenbean. We did light & easy a little while back. I will not lie to you - it is incredibly convenient. The food was good too and I quite miss being on the plan. I definitely learned about portion sizes although having stopped it I now struggle with dinner portions (I think I just have to be on a plan of some sort that tells me exactly how much to each for each meal, otherwise is just eat too much (even if it's healthy stuff)).
Give it a go if you think it will help you learn portion sizes, I found it useful for that although I will say that I don't remember dropping large amounts of weight while on it.

Hi all,
Molly - you're doing well to go to a class when not feeling great. I have a virus and am avoiding all physical activity. Telling myself it's not laziness!
Fairey - good idea in breaking down the goal. I think at the moment my BIG goal is to get below 70 - I just have been stuck at 71-73 for what feels like ages. About a month in reality, though.
Keanbean - check out this book called Portion Perfection - shows what is appropriate portion sizes. And they explain things really well. So I know that half my plate has to be veg or salad, a small portion of carbs (equivalent of 1 potato) and 100g worth of protein for dinner. They have great pictures to help with estimation so that you can stick with it when out to dinner or at a friend's place. I'm clearly not doing it right these days as can't shift these kgs, but it really is a helpful book.
Mags - I'd also say that about eating too much good stuff, write out a plan that includes amounts. Plus, I find that I used to use the same amount of protein when cooking no matter what. Now I say, DF gets 200g, kids and I get 100g each. And I calculate it out so I don't cook too much. Then I divvy it up when serving to make sure I don't take part of DF's larger share
My big problem is eating between meals. I find if I'm not concentrating, I eat at least three times as much as I'm supposed to between each meal. I really have to do something about it. I'm trying to write out what I have to eat in advance, but I so regularly say "but I don't FEEL like that". Trying to remind myself that food is fuel, not entertainment!
AFM, back to 72.5, so a small loss. Last two days I've eaten pretty badly due to the virus and telling myself it's for my immune system

but I'm back on track today and will only eat what I'm supposed to. Maybe I'll make a little palm card to keep in my wallet that says "Food = Fuel Food ≠ Entertainment"
MagsJee

Hmmm... not great this week, I'm not expecting a loss. Have been really good with exercise but moving to protein shakes has just resulted in my accepting any fluid as food, so haven't really been eating .... and then those chocolate coated liquorice start calling me. Shame really.
Anyways, my jeans feel a bit bigger this week than last week so that's got to count for something, right?

I think my Wii Fit board must not be working

When i weighed in a fortnight ago i was 123.3 and last friday i lost 2.8kgs and put me at 120.3kgs, Ive got up this morning and its put me at about 122.2 however is says ive lost 900gms

So I have no idea I'm weighing myself first thing in the morning because I've done anything and without clothes on every time, I think I must be doing something wrong because I can't seem to shift this weight..
Good job to everyone else that has lost weight, Keep it up..

Hi everyone
Well... I joined Weight Watchers this week. Joined up on Tuesday, so I've spent the week counting points.
At the meeting they weighed me in order to calculate my daily points allocation - I weighed in at 121.3kg
So - my new goal is 21.3kg - will change my ticker on Tuesday after I've weighed in again and HOPEFULLY I'll have lost something off that (I don't have the heart to change the ticker just yet... It'll be so depressing to have the goal and going back to completing none of it!)
Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend!

Hello all
Welcome
caroldiem, there's a few of us aiming to lose weight before pregnancy, I'm sure you'll find lots of support and encouragement here.
---
I have figured out a new measuring scale - jeans. Yup, I'm going to be gauging my cm's lost by how well I fit into my numerous pairs of jeans (I think I've got one for every size, from a generous 12 down to a skinny minnie 8, with several stops at all the variations of 10's in between).
So my jeans goals are:
Euro-brand (12's)
Colorado (10's)
Black Blue's (skinny 12's)
And that will do for May. I figure if I stick religiously to my exercise plan by the end of May I should be able to fit into all of the above. Then I'll make plans for June.
Also, nearly half way to my small reward for a 3 or 5kg loss in May! Woohoo.

Hi everyone,
Well I'm not 100% but certainly a lot better. I won't exercise today and tomorrow, will wait to feel completely better.
But..... Feeling a rejuvenated enthusiasm for weight loss. I really think I can do this properly!

Trying to eat really well and I know I can get back into exercise as soon as I feel better. I think a lot of this energy is because a jacket I'm wearing today which I couldn't do up for a while there, now not only does it do up, but there's heaps of room around my waist! Yay!
Fairey - good job on joining weight watchers - I hear they're really good at keeping you motivated. I know what you mean about resetting goals, so depressing! I'm sure you'll have a great few weeks and by the end of May your new ticker will be looking fantastic!
Carol - Welcome! Hope you have a great stay in here. We are all very supportive and help to keep each other on track for our goals.
Us5 - I measure bust, waist, hips and one thigh. I really only do it when the scales aren't playing nice and I'm feeling deflated so then I have something positive to focus on. If you only want to do one measurement, choose your waist. Partly because it's a good indicator of where you're at and partly because it is a very helpful measurement when you look at the health impacts of our extra kgs. Pretty much, if you are holding extra weight around your thighs and hips, if your waist size is less than half your height, you are doing ok health wise. Over the past 8 months or so I have lost quite a few cms and I'm only about 3-ish away from having a waist of less than half my height.
Your exercise routine is amazing! I'm feeling so lazy, even before I was ill I was on a completely lazy slump. But the only way is up, right?
Mags - What a fantastic measurement scale!

And well done on your goal progress!
What about a new thread question:
What will you do this month when you have a day (or days!) where your motivation is waning and not sticking to your food or exercise plan?

So after one week on WW I've lost 1kg exactly. This isn't too bad - I didn't do a single thing excercise wise this week, and within in my points allocation I've had a few choccies and sweets and what not. So 1kg down, 20.3 (groan!!) to go... for this goal! (Making me 120.3kg... my rudey nudey weight this morning was 118.4kg... so a fair bit different to my fully clothed, shoes on at the end of the day weight!! Unbelievable the difference!

Hi girls
Sorry been MIA since Easter. Did really well keeping off the choccy and hot cross buns. However moved house/towns a few days later and have been staying at my fathers while we found a new house to move into.

Needless to say the diet went out the window...hmmm
Have moved into a new house now but am going on holiday to Mauritous on Sunday for 2 weeks so i am putting myself on hold till i get back. I have a Curves gym just round the corner of the new place so will join up as soon as i get back and straight back into my Terry Ferguson.
On the TTC front had my FS appt on the 3 May. My Dp need to do another SA and depending on those results will depepnd on whether we have the Tubal Reversal operation or we go straight down IVF Path. We have another FS for the 1 june to discuss the results.
SO now i am so much closer to TTC i had better whip my butt into action and get those kilos off my butt.
Hope everyone is doing well and those kilo's are slowly melting away..
See you all in a few weeks.

Hi everyone, I have been MIA again. I just cannot find the motivation to keep eating healthy and exercise at the moment.
Everything is combining to get me down...work, weird super long irregular cycle (I'm up to 70 something days atm), my fence has fallen down and needs replacing and to top it off we are getting absolutely no support from the parents of our scout group (I am a leader) to keep the group running eg. fundraising, being on the committee, helping out where needed

Shocker of a week, diet's stuffed and exercise went out the window. And to top it off, my weight jumped UP 2kgs in one day. It's just not happening for me atm.
I've also realised that I'm really quite angry and there's some not nice thoughts running about in my head, I haven't slept well since my aunt died (Easter), and I'm starting to be short tempered and nasty. Throw in a few fat days and that's me right now. I'm not really sure what's going on, where it comes from or how to change things. Not exercising hasn't helped me either, poo week all round.
Here's hoping next week will be better for me.

My concerns regarding my Wii being wrong is right, Im about 10kgs Heavier then my Wii Fit Plus board says I've spent all this time getting excited that I'am losing weight and am under 120kgs when in fact I'am not.
Here are my New stats
SW 125.9kgs
CW 125.9kgs
Mini GW #1- 120kg
Mini GW #2 - 110kgs
Yay I can have Baby #4
My Main Goals is to get to 110kgs so we can have another baby as i need to be under a certain BMI for my hospital to take me and at 110kg I will JUST scrape in but i would like to be around 95kgs by time i fall pregnant.
Finally sorted out my Wii Fit, Its because of my thick carpet that it wasnt give me the correct weight,so I'm now weighing myself on the kitchen floor with the Wii Board.
When i weighed myself the other day on bathroom scales and doctors scales i was Fully Clothed with shoes on and it was late afternoon so i had eaten so after speaking to a Health professional that we know she said take 2kgs off that weight(128kg) which take's me down to about 126kgs and going by my Wii fit board with it being on hard floor and unclothed it take me to 125.9kgs still pretty bad but not as bad.

Hi everyone
Us 5 - I read your post and did a bit of an inward groan for you... that totally sucks about the scales! At least you found out about it relatively early (ish)... now we can work together for that 110kg goal!
I do have a bit of a question for you - I hope you don't mind me asking this - Were you under 110kg when you conceived your 3 children? (And how long did it take you to conceive?) I'm having a bit of a weird week - just very aware of my weight, and feeling down for letting myself get to this size... I just hate the thought that my weight is probably one of the factors that we aren't pregnant yet... I hope you don't mind me asking this!

With my first(now 5) i was about 90kgs took about 8 months to conceive her, with #2(now 3) i was 110kg and it took about 4 months I came off the Depo in April got AF back in June and that's when we started trying and fell pregnant in October, With #3(now 16mths) I was again 110kgs, we decided to stop the pill and have another one and well 4 weeks after I stopped the pill I found out I was pregnant.
