Hi,
i'm new to the site but have checked daily for the past 9 months. After 6 years of waiting we have 3 month old identical boys, noah and caleb and they are currently wriggling their way out of their wraps.
i have an old wrap called bo baby, it's really stretchy muslin wrap and is great but i can't find anymore as i think the company has gone out of business. If anyone has an old one i'd love to purchase it as it is the only thing that works so far.
the other thing i was thinking was buying growbags, but is 3 months too young to put them in them?? I'd love to hear your sleeping stories for your twins.
thanks heaps

Hi and welcome to EB. Congratulations on the birth of Noah and Caleb - and for getting through the first 3 months! Sorry, I don't have any info about muslin wraps (maybe you could buy some muslin and hem it?). My girls were very good at getting out of their wraps and I just gave up (started by leaving one arm out, then the other and then getting rid of the wrap altogether) at about 3 months as they still slept well without them. They're still very wriggly at 2 and a 1/4 but it doesn't affect their sleep.
Look forward to hearing more from you.

How funny- I was just thinking of posting something very similar! I want to put my boys into gro-bags (mainly for safety but also for a good nights' sleep)- but they are very used to being wrapped (can wriggle out though when they really want to- even when firmly wrapped in a muslin cloth 120cm square). I tried leaving their arms out yesterday without success (to get them used to this, as my gro-bags should arrive later this week), so will now try one arm at a time- thanks Maree.
Cheers
Lindy
PS The gro-bag brand of sleeping bags start at newborn now. The one I am getting is supposed to be suitable for 0-6 months. The next one up is 6-18 months which I think is much better value, but I am hoping that I'll get those for Chrissy from nan :-)

Hi Tanyatin,
I'm hearin' ya!! Those Bobay wraps are the best ever.
I've put the call out on here before asking if anyone had one but unfortunately had no luck.
You are right in that they are no longer made and I'm still waiting for one to come up on ebay but seems like no one wants to part with them!!
My DD was wrapped in one of these till she was 14mths and now my DS at 13mths still uses his.
I have read of another wrap called the Lil' Fraser wrap or something like that, and you can buy them at Babies Galore apparently. It seems like it is very very similar to the bobaby but i haven't seen it for myself as yet. Might be worth checking one of those out.
Good luck in finding one and all the best with your little boys too!!
Cheers,

hi all,
thanks so much for the info, i've looked up the swaddlease on ebay and it looks good, and might just do the trick.
i've also tried wrapping one arm out but have just checked and caleb is totally out of his wrap so that hasn't worked either, might just give the wraps the flick!!
i should have joined up ages ago and saved myself heaps of time on the net trying to get information.
thanks heaps again

Will do Tanya :-) It will be a bit of a challenge to get them used to having their arms out- they are not settling very well atm and I have only got 1 arm out! Will persevere though as they have to get used to it eventually I guess!
Likewise I will be interested to know how the swaddleaze goes if you end up getting one. I might have gone for that if there was a lightweight one (we live in North Qld).

GRRRRR what a night.
My boys got too hot using the wraps that I had so I went out and bought some new muslin ones (bubba blue brand), I needed something really really thin cos they get hot and sweaty when they sleep.
So ALL night i was wrapping and rewrapping cos they kept on wriggling out of them and waking themselves up!!
I looked at the swaddleze option but i think it might be a bit too thick for summer..if only they made that in thin cotton material...
I saw something like what you were describing at Babies Galore and Babyco (thin, big and stretchy) - it costs $29.95 though for just ONE muslin wrap...
I dont know what to do....I NEED SOME SLEEP!!!

hi alibub
i know what you mean and i think also that the swaddlease might be too hot for sydney summers, i'm also not sure what the answer is.
i'm trying wrapping one arm out again today and failing that i;m just going to go out and buy some grobags in the 1tog rating.
hope you have a better nights sleep tonight

Tanya - I was using the gro bags before - and they kept on startling themselves and rubbing their faces so thats why I decided to wrap them instead!!
SO i dont know if this will solve ur problem...
After writing the last post i made a 'baby straight jacket'!!!!
I just sewed some muslin wrap onto their night clothes - hard to describe but its like the swaddeleze - except with muslin...ehehhe - see how it goes tonite.

Hi girls
Alibub- IKWYM with those Bubba Blue wraps! I bought 4 of them as they were the thinest thing I have seen and only used them when my boys were really little. They are way too small for them now :-( I am currently using LTC Essentials muslin wraps- a bit thicker but much bigger (120cm sq). I can only do this as we have recently had air-con put into the boys' room.
Tanya- My sister lives in Sydney and has two kids (2 yrs and 4 months)- she uses the 2.5 TOG in winter and 0.5 TOG in summer. Maybe if you only wanted to get one you could try the 0.5 TOG- as you can always put more clothes underneath in winter.
Cheers

Hi Tanya
My grobags have arrived today- yay! I will let you know how I go with them. Have progressed and now leaving both arms out when they are wrapped so will probably start using the bags this weekend sometime. Also- might be an idea to try ebay for the 0.5 TOG?
Cheers

Hi Tanya
Just wanted to let you know that the grobags are going great!! We got used to having our arms out- one at a time over a week or so, and then into the bags no probs. I must say that the 0-6 month size is quite firm across the chest (if you have the underarm poppers done up), and small around the neck (fits my boys no prob, but not sure if it will last until 6 months). The armholes are quite large though, so I would not have been able to use the next size up yet for safety reasons. Hope you have had some luck with your little ones at sleep time. The 0.5 TOG is like a thick sheet, just to give you some idea of what you might need.
Alibub, how is your baby straight jacket ;-) going?
cheers

hi Lindy!
Straight jacket didnt work at all - hated it.
So Im back to thin muslin wraps. I tried the grobags again the other night and they just kept startling and rubbing their faces around 4am onwards...
I think the sleeping problems we are having are probably more to do with the way i put them to sleep.
Almost at my wits end...

ive tried so many things to get them to sleep and stay asleep.
