Hi All

Just wondering if you could share any good cake shops in Canberra.. North or South doesn't bother me.. Its my DH's birthday this weekend and my 30th in a few weeks so was wanting some suggestions... I'm not a fan of Michele's.

thanks :-)

Hi,
What about trying on of the 'cheesecake' shops. I know there is one in Phillip. I have had them before and they are nice original.gif.

Breadtop at Westfield Belconnen. They make awesome treats. One of my all time favourite shops now.
Rumply
The Dobinson's Bakery in Civic (142 Bunda St, City ACT) make some pretty spectacular cakes and pasteries.... mmmm now I want some.

Seconding Dobinson's, they do some beautiful tart/cake type things. The white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake is lovely.

For something different, there's the Jazz Apple Cafe in Civic (just outside the Canberra Centre, near the Sportsgirl entrance) - they do really great cupcakes in all different flavours, and they do up gift packs and special cupcake towers for birthdays. They are a bit exxy though..

the flute in fyshwick....can't go past it. But you will have to but it Friday (morning preferably as they go quick) and it will last. Take cash with you as they don't have eftpos.

MMMM the flute might need to go myself tomorrow.
HotPozzum
Try Silo in Kingston for beautiful tarts and baked goods. Also Dobinsons. Tounge1.gif

We've had quite a few cakes from the Continental Cake Shop in Queanbeyan. My DH loves an Italian Torte that they do there. It's delicious!

I've also heard good things about Breadtops cakes, and will third the suggestion of Dobinsons.

I got a lot of cakes and tarts from there for the babies 1st birthday party.

Everyone loved them.

Another vote for Dobinsons.

Now I feel like cake!

I second the flute in fyshwick, we had a cake at work from there and OMG wub.gif wub.gif

I used to go to a place in Fyshwick - it was where all the cakes were made. A full mortal sin cake was $30! I just can't remember it's name! I know - not at all helpful...
