After a huge search and much debating over names for our soon to be son we've gone back to two of the names we had picked out 5 years ago for DD. So now to get it to THE one - which do you prefer:
Brodie/Brody John
Joshua John

My vote goes for Joshua too x

Too hard, I like them both equally. They're quite different from each other. Maybe one goes better with your DD's name or better with the surname?

I too would go for Brodie because Joshua is ... well it's a J name ...

Joshua, not even close. I think the J name thing is a load of hooey, my parents are both teachers and still chose a J name for their son so they obviously weren't put off by J-named terrors!

Joshua without a doubt. It is a classic, strong name that won't go out of style.

My niece had 3 Joshua's in her class last year and there are 3 in Prep this year with my son. We also know another Joshua of who is 4. So at school it is Joshua A, Joshua T, Joshua S... You get the idea
Depends if you mind how popular the name is...

Joshua is out name too. We have started referring to the baby as Joshi and it really fits well. Good luck with your decision

Joshua John (and I'm a teacher too!) If you don't want Joshua X at school, then nickname him JJ to make him stand out from others...just a thought.

I dislike both names, but Joshua is far better than Brodie, even with John as a middle name.
What's the 'J name thing' being mentioned?
I don't like either name but I would choose Brodie just because it isn't as popular as Joshua.
