For those of you with toddler twins that have also experienced single toddlerhood, do you find twins to be rougher on things than your single child?

I was talking with DH this morning about how naughty our two are with books and how they have wrecked so many of their board books and yet Abbey never ever even tore one single page in any of her books! At this point Joe and Scarlett interrupted our conversation as they shrieked at each other while pulling one book in two different directions! We came to the conclusion that twins maybe wreck more stuff due the the fact they are always fighting over them and our single first child didn't have any competition like that.

I did wonder though if anyone else had the same thing in their house? Do your twins demolish books or are they really good with them? Did you have a single child that was a book-wrecker? We did have a lot of books for them but I try to avoid giving them out too much now (fabric and bath ones are still good though!) and all their main books are in pieces!

lol books ATM are ok but when we got our first party invite ........fighting, screamimg, pulling... rip straight down the middle original.gif original.gif original.gif
all my kids love books but ALL are possesive (over everything really) so without a doubt if one has a book then the others will want one aswell

i'm sure it would have been different if my singleton was older then the triplets, i agree no competition = happy quiet families original.gif original.gif original.gif

(i often buy 2 books now of the same theme to limit the fights)

have fun everyone

I was only just thinking that this morning! I got out some new books for my kids and noticed a few board books from when my twin boys were younger. They were a wreck- they'd been torn, had the corners chewed off(!!) and had really had some tough treatment. My DD hasn't done anything like that to any of our books.
Cheers, Maycee

I think you are probably right Jo, having two chewing, pulling and generally mauling the books at the same time is more likely to wreck them than one. My DD 1 wasn't too hard on them but the two girls are making short work of them this time around. It does help to cover them in clear contact...stops the spit penetrating a bit!
