Same as PPs, but I have also heard someone say "Ra-FAIL", referring to her cousin's new baby. I'm not sure if she was simply unfamiliar with the name, or if the child's parents actually pronounced it that way.

In English I say RAF-ayl. There's an ABC reporter Raphael Epstein and that is how he is referred to. Since Nadal we hear raf-ay-YELL from English speaking commentators.

I'd heard everything from Raf-fay-el, Raf-feye-el, to Raf-fee-el.
Ra-fa-EL is new to me!

I really love the name (with any pronounciation) but have been wondering how everyone will assume it's pronounced....

While also wondering which I even prefer...

I think I naturally say Raf-fay-el, although then think of the Ninja Turtle which is more Raf-feye-el. So confusing...
