After deciding I liked Alexis I said it with our last name and I think it is a bit of a mouthful. What do you think?

I almost thought Mitchell was the middle name. I think Alexis Mitchell sounds fine as a first and surname combo.

Alexis is a sensational name. People called Alexis are smart, beautiful and kind.
There is nothing wrong with it with the surname Mitchell, it's just that I dislike the name Alexis.

My DD is Alexia, so I love Alexis as well - Alexis Mitchell sounds fine
I do not think its a mouthful at all. I grew up with a first name of 7 letters and a surname of 11 letters that was hyphenated to a another surname with 8 letters now that is a mouthful and rather big for a little girl. I now use a 5 lettered nick-name and dropped the 11 lettered surname as an adult, much more manageable.
Stick with Alexis Mitchell, its lovely. BTW, love the name Alexis only my cousin got in first and used it so its off my list.
