Just wanted to tell you all about another amazing moment that Summer and Taylor shared last week that brought tears to our eyes.

To cut a long story short, Taylor had a nasty accident last Tuesday which required a stay in hospital. He was playing with his big brother's plastic snorkel and in a split second put the plastic end in his mouth and fell full weight on it. It severed his palate and did some major damage to the back of his mouth and throat. He needed emergency surgery and a tube to help him breathe.

Anyway my DH stayed with him in hospital so I could cope with the other 3 kids. I'm still BF so needed to be with Summer as Taylor couldn't swallow and was being fed with an IV. By the time I got home, my Mum had settled her and put her to bed. She kept pointing to Taylor's cot and saying "Taylor". She didn't have a good night but I didn't think anything of it.
The next morning DH rang and said that Taylor was very agitated so the Nurses suggested bringing Summer into the hospital. It was the first time they had been apart in 16 months except for an hour or so.

As soon as we got there Summer kept pointing to Taylor lying in the bed and looking at us like she was trying to tell us something. We then put her in the cot and she lay her head on Taylor's chest and kept kissing him and patting his face. He instantly calmed down and went into a deep sleep. She then sat there quietly for the longest time. Every time Taylor opened his eyes he smiled at Summer.

He is now home and doing really well. The hard part has been trying to get Summer to eat in her highchair without feeding Taylor. We try and not let him see her eat as he is still on mush but she refuses to go in it without him next to her.

I now know that their bond is pretty special, even at their age. It was amazing to watch.

What a fabulous bond your two have. But what a terrible time Taylor (and all of you) have had. It's scary just how fast these accidents can happen. I hope he's still healing well and will soon be back to 100%.

We try to give the girls little outings on their own in the weekend when we're both home (to the supermarket or to get a coffee) - when they get home after half an hour, they run to each other and just laugh - they're so excited to see each other you'd think they hadn't seen each other for weeks.

Take care

Hi

That is a lovely story from a sad beginning. It also brought a tear to my eye.

My girls did something a bit like that when they were about 9wks old Charlotte was hysterical and I couldn't work out why I had Lily in the loungeroom doing something anyway long story short when I took her in to put her to bed she grunted as we got near the door and Charlotte went silent and straight to sleep.

It is those type of things that make all the hardwork worth it with my girls.

Oh my gosh, what a gorgeous story

As someone yet to be initiated into the world of twins it's so lovely to read a story like this, it very nearly made me cry - which would be hard to explain to my co-workers!!

I hope little Taylor is well on the mend and will be better soon. Your children sound adorable.

Take care

Wow! I hope Taylor is on the mend...what a rough tiem you've been through!!! But so lovely to see their special bond too!

My girls have rarely been apart and they are never happy when they are. Even when they were still in NICU when Izzy got moved to a lower care area both she and Zoe started doing really badly, very unstable lots of A's and B's... then our wonderful Pead made them put them back side by side and they both instantly improved!

Even the other day having thier hearing tests my Mum said Zoe spent the whole 15 minutes we were gone 'looking for something' my Mum thought she was wanting me and told her Mamma would be back soon and she said clear as a bell... 'No Izzy izzy.' which is amazing in itself as she usually calls Izzy 'Zoe'!

Love that bond

Kate

We are moving house! Yipee!!

Dolph ~ That is a beautiful Story Lovie!! Thanks for posting this...I hope that Taylor is on the mend and that things have settled after the accident for you all sad.gif How scary that must have been for him.
Recently we were in Perth and had to take Brooklen to the Dr's and we decided to leave Hayden with Mum and Dad as he had already been to the Dr's that day. We have never done this before and it was a bleak feeling both Phil and I without him there. At the Dr's Brooklen (usually miss smily) wouldnt smile, was agitated and constantly looking left, right everywhere and when we got her home and put her next to Hayden wholla she was happy again original.gif Mum said that Hayden was restless too and she had never seen him move so much in the cot (obviously looking and listening for his much louder sister LOL)

It is a beautiful bond and I love to watch them interact more than anything else original.gif
Sorry to hyjack your thread - Just had a very similar moment original.gif

our id twin boys were born 10 weeks prem along with thier triplet brother !!?? anyway blake had a perferated (sp) bowel and was in great pain so they transfered him to another SCU.. well dylan screamed and screamed and then went silent, the nurses describing as a state of depression, just because blake was taken away ... this was when they were 6 days old, so 8th dec
and then soo much more happened but blake was away from the other two until xmas day when they put dylan in blakes humi crib and blakes heart rate settled, no more stopping to breath episodes and was put in a big cot with his brothers on boxing day
