I'm a big fan of Rowan, so that'd be my pick.
Jasper reminds me of Jasper Carrott (comedian - not one I find funny though!) or wasps, which is what my brother used to call them when he was younger, "little jaspers" lol

I vote Rowan! (I really dislike Jasper)

I really like them both so I don't think you can go wrong but I'll put my vote in for Jasper.

lol, I'll have to do an end tally when the thread dies out... Looks like there is a mixed response.
I really like Rowan because it's a very sweet name with associations to folklore and magic (Rowan tree is a tree of protection) + it means 'Little red head' which my partner has the most beautiful Auburn hair but I also find it a very sensible name.
And then I like the name Jasper because it is unusual also means red and I think it's a lovely name, but is it a name for life? A name you can be anyone in eg; careers ect... not have people think he has hippie parents (even though he does though lol)
William was my Grandfathers name, I wouldn't use it as a first name though.

No doubt for me - it has to be Rowan - a great name.
Jasper - not fussed on it at all.

It's the magic of this name I love so much. Hope you choose this one.

My own son is Rowan so I'm biased. He's 26 now and has NEVER complained about his name- it's just unusual enough for him to be the only one called that in most things he does, but not so odd that people can't spell or pronounce it.
I reckon you should wait till he's born. He'll probably strike you as one or the other. My girlfriend has a son called Jasper and it totally suits that child.

My vote would be for Rowan, don't really like Jasper at all sorry, it always sounds a bit harsh (not sure if that's the best word to describe it!!) to me.

Jasper! Our friends just called their little boy Jasper. I like that it is unusual enough that every other kid is not a Jasper. I think that it is cute for a little boy but is a nice, solid name as they get older and enter the workforce.
I don't really like how Rowan is shortened to Row. One of our friends is in his 30's and just can't shake being Row.

Love both Rowan/Rohan Jasper and Rowan/Rohan William.

Rowan has so much more class than Jasper. It is a strong and sensible name that will suit a boy or a man. Jasper on the other hand is just a trendy name.

I wouldn't spell it Rohan because my partner knew an aquantance called 'Row-haan' spelt Rohan.
When you named your babies did you look at them and just know which out of your name pick was the one?

I love Rowan. It's a nice sounding name. My childhood dogs name was Jasper which is probably why I don't like it as a persons name as such.

Jasper William is fantastic!
Jasper's not a 'trendy' name. It's old fashioned and traditional and has had a bit of a rebirth in the past few years.

Hardly. It was one of the 3 wise men. Although different spelling, I believe.
A very old and traditional name. It may be becoming more popular now, that's only because people like it.

I like them both equally. Jasper seems more trendy than Rowan, but for some reason I think that Rowan Leary is somebody famous.
