So I have sought for name advice before but now were down to the final 2 names.

Either

Rowan Jasper

or

Jasper William

Last name 'Leary'

Give me your votes rolleyes.gif

I was going to vote for Rowan but now I actually think that Jasper will go better with your surname.
Gudrun
Vote 1 Jasper
mummytomany
Jasper without a doubt.
naturalista
I'm a big fan of Rowan, so that'd be my pick.

Jasper reminds me of Jasper Carrott (comedian - not one I find funny though!) or wasps, which is what my brother used to call them when he was younger, "little jaspers" lol

Klinkalink
I vote Rowan! (I really dislike Jasper)
Ianthe
I really like them both so I don't think you can go wrong but I'll put my vote in for Jasper.
Mung bean
lol, I'll have to do an end tally when the thread dies out... Looks like there is a mixed response.

I really like Rowan because it's a very sweet name with associations to folklore and magic (Rowan tree is a tree of protection) + it means 'Little red head' which my partner has the most beautiful Auburn hair but I also find it a very sensible name.

And then I like the name Jasper because it is unusual also means red and I think it's a lovely name, but is it a name for life? A name you can be anyone in eg; careers ect... not have people think he has hippie parents (even though he does though lol) Tounge1.gif

William was my Grandfathers name, I wouldn't use it as a first name though.
fancie
No doubt for me - it has to be Rowan - a great name.

Jasper - not fussed on it at all.

It's the magic of this name I love so much. Hope you choose this one.
fifi-trixibelle
I definitely prefer Jasper. Is Jasper Rowan an option? I prefer Rowan to William.
Jen1
Jasper William is great.
strawberryfire
Rowan - i always think of a child with a lisp when I hear Jasper.
zippeemum
Rowan!! All the way biggrin.gif
Z-K-L
I really like both of them, but if I HAD to pick I'd choose Rowan.
delli
Jasper William by a mile.
Blossom77
Another vote for Rowan here - just love it.
daruma
I always think Jasper sounds like a little boy and never a man!
Mung bean
Jasper Rowan is an option original.gif
twotoddlers
Rowan!
Aunt Annie
My own son is Rowan so I'm biased. He's 26 now and has NEVER complained about his name- it's just unusual enough for him to be the only one called that in most things he does, but not so odd that people can't spell or pronounce it.

I reckon you should wait till he's born. He'll probably strike you as one or the other. My girlfriend has a son called Jasper and it totally suits that child.
PixieVee
Rowan Jasper.
SaraW
My vote would be for Rowan, don't really like Jasper at all sorry, it always sounds a bit harsh (not sure if that's the best word to describe it!!) to me.
Becdoll
Jasper! Our friends just called their little boy Jasper. I like that it is unusual enough that every other kid is not a Jasper. I think that it is cute for a little boy but is a nice, solid name as they get older and enter the workforce.

I don't really like how Rowan is shortened to Row. One of our friends is in his 30's and just can't shake being Row.
~damons-mum~
I would choose Rowan. Have you considered the spelling Rohan.

Love both Rowan/Rohan Jasper and Rowan/Rohan William.
Mulan
Rowan, however I prefer Rohan as the spelling

Actually I agree, I prefer the spelling Rohan.
Puggle

I like them both but Rowan was our top pick for a boy so it edges ahead for me.

Rowan has so much more class than Jasper. It is a strong and sensible name that will suit a boy or a man. Jasper on the other hand is just a trendy name.
Mung bean
I wouldn't spell it Rohan because my partner knew an aquantance called 'Row-haan' spelt Rohan.

When you named your babies did you look at them and just know which out of your name pick was the one?
AmyP
Love Rowan - I have a brother named Rohan, and he's a lovely brother and person. Like Jasper too, but love Rowan.
spellfall
I vote for Rowan
wantingno2
I love Rowan. It's a nice sounding name. My childhood dogs name was Jasper which is probably why I don't like it as a persons name as such.
4plus1makes5
Rowan for sure

another vote for rowan original.gif

Jasper William

peebs
Jasper William is fantastic!

Jasper's not a 'trendy' name. It's old fashioned and traditional and has had a bit of a rebirth in the past few years.

Rowan... wub.gif

Jasper has become overused IMO.

Hardly. It was one of the 3 wise men. Although different spelling, I believe.

A very old and traditional name. It may be becoming more popular now, that's only because people like it.

twilightangel
I vote Jasper William, I think it is a lovely name.

I like them both equally. Jasper seems more trendy than Rowan, but for some reason I think that Rowan Leary is somebody famous.
