Just wondering when your babies stopped changing positions?
I'm 29 weeks and at the moment the bottom one is head down and the other is breech up the top. Two weeks ago they were both breech but one day I felt lots of movement (very painful too) and I think they moved right around then. Are they likely to move much from now on? I wouldn't have thought there'd be a lot of room for too much action.
Also, if the second one is breech, it won't hinder a vaginal birth will it?

Hi there.

I have just checked my antenatal card record.........at 34 weeks I was the same as you, then at 35 weeks Twin B went from breech to transverse across the top........

I was induced at 38 weeks and he turned after Twin A was delivered, like a good little bub to head down and off he went original.gif

My Ob was happy to let me have a vaginal birth even if twin B was breech as long as the first was head down.

Best wishes for the rest of your pregnancy original.gif

Hello,
My first twin was head down from about 30 weeks, top twin always changed positions and went from across_the_top to head_down few hours before my waters broke at 36 weeks.
Hospital (I went public) said it didn't matter for them in what position was twin 2 as she could turn after the first one was born anyway (she didn't turn and jumped out head first 5 minutes later after her sister).
Good luck with your babies!

I had two breech babies at 27 weeks and did every exercise known to man to change the position but no luck sad.gif My ob went for the safety option of booking us in for the schedules c-section at 37+1, lucky he did days before Hayden (twin 1) was engaging frank breech! **OMG** Hayden was presenting twin and Brooklen was up under my rib area also breech
Good luck ~ There was not much room left for my babies to turn but as you will read, some babies turn at a very late gestation original.gif Luck of the draw....Hoping all goes well for you

Harriet (Twin 1) was head down from about 34 weeks, I think - may have been a bit earlier. Eleanor (Twin 2) was all over the show, breech, transverse, breech again. My OB was happy to try for a vaginal delivery as long as Twin 1 stayed head down. In the end Twin 2 was head down and stayed that way.

Good luck!

They don't stop changing positions till there is no more room to do so. With having twins i would say it would be sooner but hey wouldn't know that yet anyway. My boy (twin 1) is still laying transverse at the bottom and has been in that position since 12wks and the girl (twin 2) well she moves around all the time mainly staying breech though but will change and lay on top of the boy.

My girls were transverse till around 34 weeks. Then Livi dived head down ready to go and Amber was breech head up around the ribs. My Ob would only let me try naturally if both were head down( Any excuse to give a csection I say). had a scan at 34 weeks and was booked in for a csection. I was really compact and there was no way they were going to turn.

Both my boys were head down very early on, cant remember exactly when. Ryan was engaged early and stayed that way the whole pregnancy (Caused my doctor to worry though about early labour). Khain was the one doing most of the kicking and moved slightly but stayed head down as well. I was very compact as well, so I would have been surprised if they did move.

Twin 1 was breech from about 20 weeks - and stayed that way with his head butting my ribs until my waters broke at 34.5 weeks. Twin 2 was also breech at 24 weeks, at 28 weeks he had turned head down, then much to the surprise of the sonographer had changed again by 33 weeks to be transverse breech. Apparently there had been so much movement that they had trouble telling twin 1 from twin 2 at the 33 week scan (monozygotic so same sex and practically the same size throughout). After that last scan my obs said "you know you're having a caesarean don't you!" - before that he was giving me a choice if twin 1 was head down (he never was!).
