Hi There

Just a quick one!!

It has only been 5 weeks since I had my triplets & I am having trouble shaking the kilos off. I know it has only been a short period of time but today I was getting my eyebrows done at the beautician when I was asked when I was due cool.gifo:

Am I being too hard on myself to expect with a good diet & breastfeeding that it would have fallen off overnight? or can I expect this to be a lonnnnnnnggg haul? I am finding the whole weight issue a little demoralizing I am too small my my maternity clothing & too big for my normal wardrobe sad.gif

Can I ask how everyone else found the weight loss issue? Did you lose the kilos easily or was it a real struggle?

Cheers, Lilymurray

Yes, you are being hard on yourself. You have just spent months carrying around three babies, and hten giving birth to them. Give yourself time to let your body adjust to what it has achieved.

I was lucky enough to lose weight pretty quickly although I didn't have alot to lose. I was so sick throughout the pregnancy that I lost heaps of weight before I had them. Then I was breastfeeding exclusively and running around after two other active boys.

To this day I still say that having twins was the best diet I could ever go on. I don't think I have ever been this size and weight (well at least since I was alot younger).
Good luck and don't be hard on yourself, as before you know it the weight will just fall off you

Lily ~ You poor darling! I think you are being too hard on yourself too....that lady is inconsiderate, I am sure if she knew you had just delivered triplets she would have asked many more 'nice' questions about your beautiful trio.....Ignore her and others.
I actually had a Uterus that is called 'floating'?? My gyno/ob was bringing all these students in to feel where it was each day of my recovery!! One day I would have a large lump on the left, the next day in the middle and that evening on the right. This made the shrinking process a little slower for me, but I too lost all pregnancy weight after 2-3 weeks, I was breastfeeding and running around like a mad woman trying to show the world that I didnt need to sleep during the day (LOL)
I didnt gain too much weight and lost it all plus more after the babies...I am now the exact same weight I was prior to having them original.gif
Having twins was definatly the best diet I could have found too.
You will find once you are home and not thinking about it and feeding 3 babies, it will just happen.
I do know a Twin Mum here that was taking a very long time to 'go back to normal' and she has just been diagnosed with a Hernia that will need to be operated on in order for her tummy to decrease sad.gif
Give yourself some time ~ I actually miss my belly and liked it more when I couldnt see my feet LOL
Take care and try not to focus on this, just your beautiful little babies! (can you post a Pic of them? *cluck*Cluck*)

Hi lilymurray

You are definently being too hard on yourself!! My boys are 7 months now and i am still getting rid of the excess kgs and i only put on minimal weight as it was. It will start to fall off running around - especially after triplets. My DP was really worried about me as i was paranoid about the weight and he thought i was going to develop an eating disorder becuase i wanted my old body back pronto and i would just start crying over my body, as obviously it looks different now after twins!! I don't have my body back (and probably never will), but the weight is slowly coming off. I am going to weight watchers and am finding it great. I started when the boys were 5 weeks old, then i found it too hard to really watch what i ate, so i stopped and i just started again when they were 5 months old and this time it is working.

Also i remember when my boys were 5 weeks old we had them christened and i went to the hairdresser to get my hair cut, eyebrows done etc and i was asked hte same question. I quickly responded that i just had twins but i was in tears.. It is really awful i know!!

Seriously though you carried 3 babies!!!! SO just take it easy and as they say it takes 9 months or however many months you carried the bubs to put it on - so take that amount of time to take it off!! My deadline is the end of November for me to be back to my ideal weight so i am trying to stick with the nine months on / nine months off rule.

Rach :-)

Hi Lilymurray

I know how you feel! My twins are now 8 weeks, and almost every time I go out without them- someone asks when am I due LOL!! I did not put on weight anywhere when pregnant- just a big belly, and a surprising portion of that belly is still with me. I even had one extremely enthusiastic lady in Wollies tell me that I was the absolute picture of health and pregnancy suited me so well! I did not have the heart to tell her I had given birth to twins 7 weeks earlier and had not slept since ;-) I too am too big for normal clothes and also too small for most of my maternity clothing (plus it only emphasises my belly!), so I have bitten the bullet and bought I few new things in a larger size. Made me feel heaps better wearing normal clothes- and I love my retail therapy :-) I am sure we will get back to normal before too long- everyone else seems to.

Take care of yourself and your 3 gorgeous babies
Cheers
Lindy

I have had huge probs getting my weight off after my boys after 2 1/2 years my drs are doing tests as they say it is due to my hormones and may be having probs with my thyroid.
Some days it can get me down but honestly I look at my boys and think how lucky I am and if weight is the only issue in my life well so be it.
So try not to beat your self up as you have three precious little bundles and when they come home it will just fall off.
take care
