Hello all,

I have 8 week old twin girls and would like to ask for advice on the Feed - Play - Sleep routine. With my first daughter (who is now 2 years old), we had a very predictable timing routine. However I have noticed that the twins are very different in behaviour. One sleeps alot, the other does not. One sleeps right after a feed, then wakes to play. While the other is still awake after a feed, than sleeps. Is there a way I can feed both, then play with both at the same time, than put both to bed ?

Many Thanks, Tia.

Hi there Tia,
Welcome to the joys of establishing routines for twins who are very individual in their needs. I had some 'sleep help' for my girls at 12wks old and the woman was quite clear that yuo must ensure Feed Play Sleep in that order and avoid allowing one or both to sleep on the bottle. It can be difficult and its feels mean because there so sleepy and relaxed but the other option is to always have one awake! 8weeks is still quite young and it is hard to est routine but I think that if you can train puppies you can begin to train small babies. I'm sure other mums are more relaxed and are happy for their babies to 'flake it' when they feel tired and feed on demand so its definately whatever suits you !
(at this age my girls were on 4 sleeps and 5 bottles!)
Goodluck, Caroline
