I saw this name on facebook; a friend of my brother has just named their son it.
They live in America, and whenever one of their friends has a baby (which is quite often at the moment, must be the "age"), I'm always introduced to a new name! I don't mean that in a bad way - but I've not come across many "traditional" names being used on our American side of the family

So what do you think: Kelton
Also, while I'm at it: Grady
Looking forward to some interesting responses. I wasn't sure at first (totally NMS), but Grady especially has grown on me.

My most likely predictable response is that I do not like Kelton or Grady at all.

Kelton is not my style at all but Grady is a name I have always liked (and would probably use if it went with my last name).

I think Kelton is a bit of a stinker namewise and Grady has always reminded me of gravy.

I don't like these names at all. I don't like surnames as first names. Grady seems really contrived too. I don't know if Kelton is a surname but it is too close to Kelvin in my opinion. And isn't a kelvin a measure of heat?

Kelton sounds like a suburb! And Grady is NMS.

I don't mind Grady - definately like Gray better.
Kelton is not something I have ever heard, or particularly wish to hear again!

That would be mine too.

Grady makes me think of Valley girl song - Grody , Grody to the max.
I thought Kelton was a town in Vic ?
Neither are my style.

Grady appeals but Kelton doesn't.

I'm not keen on either but I love Brady.

Definitely NMS but not totally horrible either. Those names seem to fit with the naming style I've noticed on American forums, a style that I don't understand the appeal of. Some names I've seen in that style are pretty awful (Bartley for a girl, anyone?).

Kelton sounds like a type of saucepan. I guess they would get Kelt as a nickname which is not an improvement.

I have a DS named Kelton.
I haven't ever met another child with the same name. I only know of one other person with the same name, a professor who works at the IVF clinic here in SA.
Anyway, DH named him, I went along with it even though I was a bit unsure if I liked it myself. I've come to normalise the name now. It's weird though, hard to always have to spell out his name for people who haven't ever heard of the name. He ends up nicknamed Kelt or Kel, both of which get some odd looks from strangers.
That said, we have some 'different' names for our kids so it's not really stand out weird, only to strangers.
I can't imagine my DS with any other name though, nothing else suits. He is a Kelton...

They make me think of surnames

Kelton is my mothers maiden name. My sister also used it as a middle name for my nephew, not sure I like it as a first name tho.

I'd have to try reeeeally hard not to burst out laughing if I heard either IRL, especially Kelton which sounds so contrived and awkward.

I rather like Kelton. Grady not so much, but Kelton is quite nice.

I went out with a Kelton when I was a teenager - he'd be about 40 now. It was unusual then too, but he was a nice guy

My initial response to Kelton was that it just another made up name but then I realised that my brother is Kelso...and I don't even give it a second thought although over the years I know it has caused him some grief. Maybe you get used to these names once you hear them more often?
I don't mind Grady but then I've known someone, who I like, called Grady for years. Maybe that's the difference.

A good friend of mine has a Keaton which suits him fine. Kelton is not my cup of tea and I hate Grady!
