Hi
People have always asked me the question of how did I choose which baby was named Dermott and which was named Thomas....
I just found it easier to name them in the way I said the names.. and in our pregnancy and the days leading up to the birth I always said "Dermott and Thomas"... it was never "Thomas and Dermott" that just didnt sound right to me!! LOL
So first born boy was DERMOTT and second born was THOMAS.. that was that easy as.....

I would like to know how you other LUCKY multiple parents have chosen who was named which name in the case of same sex multiple.....

We did the same as you Tammy the first one out was always going to be Darcy and the second one Kane. And they so suit them Kane is a bit more active and rough and loud where as Darcy is alot quieter and gentlier which I think matches their names.

Had no idea any other way to do it LOL will be interested to see what everyone else has to say

We purposely named Amy who was the second born, with the name that is first alphabetically.

I think we got the idea from something we read but I don't remember what it was! The idea is that this way she will get a chance to 'first' sometimes - on lists at school or whatever.

I guess like anything, time will tell if this was a good idea or not!!

We always new T2 was going to be Jas but weren't sure about T1 weren't 100% sure if it was a boy or girl.

However we didn't even have a name picked and they were 11wks early and the midwives insisted we give T1 a name. As we had talked previously that we liked Kate, the wk before they were born I was looking at the death notices over a quiet saturday morning coffee (was the last one of those) and I said how about Emily for a girl we both said we liked it but weren't serious.

So as I wasn't able to name her DP got Kate put on her medical records -5 days later (when I came round) I told DP no child of mine was going to be named Kate so she became Emily. It suits her though.

But strangely enough it is always Milly & Jas, never the other way around. I've never known of a quiet Jasmine and mine is no different.

We hadn't picked names before they were born! We had a short list for both genders (we knew they were the same variety but did not know which one). I thought we would have a couple more weeks to decide, but when my waters broke, I hastily threw the baby name book in my bag!

They were Twin 1 & 2 for a day and a half because I refused to name them before they were out of humidicribs and I could gaze at them unobstructed for a while. Paige was high on our shortlist and as soon as we got a good look at her we knew that was going to be her name. Hannah wasn't on our list (we loved the name but knew someone called Hannah we didn't like!), but she just looked like a Hannah so that's what she got. Strange, they are identical but even as newborns if the names were the other way around it just wouldn't seem right.

As soon as we knew I was pregnant, we said that if it was a girl we will name her Vivian, and she was the first one out. wink.gif Cassandra didn't have a name til a couple days old. blush.gif

To me it's "Vivian & Cassandra" but at cc they go alphabetically and it looks strange to me.

Hi we didnt know what we were having so we had two boys names - middle names and two girls names and middle names picke out too!!
First boy if any was to be Hayden Phillip
second boy if two _____________Leave that just incase!! (LOL)
First Girl if any was to Be Brooklen Lily
second girl if two of was to be ________(also in case LOL)
This was sorted as soon as we knew we were havig twins. Hayden Phillip was a name that DH and I decided on 10 years ago when we first met. One of those silly things you do late at night!!!
As soon as I looked at Hayden I just knew that was the right name for him anyway.....And Brooklen well she was Princess Brooklen for a few days!!

We always had the name Brodie as the name for a second son (DS 1 is Barnaby). When we found out it was 2 boys we chose the name Oscar as well. We then said Twin A to be Brodie as he always lay lower and Twin B Oscar. luckily I had a vaginal birth and he was first......making him the second son, which is actually what the name Brodie means original.gif

We talked to them when they were in my belly and we called them their names. Aidan was the first name we picked and we decided that the baby presenting was going to be Aidan. Keenan was breach and they didn't move much so we knew which one was which. WHen they were born by c/section Aidan came out first and then Keenan came out. We knew that it was Aidan as the doctor had tried to use forceps & vacuum so Aidan's head showed some damage! I liked knowing who was who as i loved talking to them when i was pregnant and knowing which one was which! I also loved knowing which one was kicking me.. usually AIdan! Everyone thought i was nuts though...!!

I'm now 26 weeks pregnant with fraternal (most likely) boys. We have chosen the names Alexander and Lukas. My DH wants the first born to be called Alexander. He has no reasoning behind it but it's ok with me. We just have to come up with middle names now!
3-Bear-Bums
When we found out that we where having twins Korbin was a name we choose and that was that so he was twin 1 and thats how he got Korbin, Jarrod was twin 2 so he was to be called Jarrod first twin to be born was always going to be Korbin (If that makes sense) *LOL*

As soon as I knew I was having boys I wanted Jack(after my grandad who was like my dad) and Tom as I knew they were easy names so people would never shorten their names
But the funny thing is people always ask is Tom short for Thomas and is Jack short for Jackson - my husband wanted Jim as he is a jimmy barnes freak and there was no way I was having Jack and Jim LOL

Silly me just reread the thread and realised what you were asking. The active twin we named Jack as to me Jack has always been a name for active little ones and Tom was very layed back and hardly moved.

It's funny how we picked who was who and is interesting to read

Well, we only know one baby's sex atm, although we've picked out 2 names of each, we've named twin 2 Laura. If twin 1 happens to be a girl, we'll name her Olivia or if twin 1 is a boy, he'll be Harrison, that's it for us original.gif

One of our boys was diagnosed with a few medical problems while I was still pregnant and he was always the smaller baby. We liked Ryan right from the start and the meaning of Ryan is "little King", we thought this suited him so well cause he was in for a fight. Khain is a strong sounding name as well and they sound good together.

Cam and Joel were named before they were born...we always knew who was who even though cam was mostly on the left side and joel the right side-cam was always (and still is) very active/wriggly/couldnt sit still.....and joel much quieter. t1 was joel and t2 was cam

Hi all,
We only decided on Alexandra the night before I was going in for a caeser. We had already chosen Gabriella and I knew this was going to be my first borns name All the other baby girls names we picked we weren't 100% sure on and as the time drew closer we decided we didn't like them. So we came across Alexandra. Think it means 'God of srength' and this was perfect for my second born little angel who had slowed in growth.

That's how we chose who was who.

We knew we were having 2 girls or 2 boys as they are monozygotic but didn't find out the sex. We picked names for boys and girls. One of the boys' names was an "H" name as well as one of the girls' names so we decided that the first born would be the "H" name - hence Harriet and Eleanor.

Hi all
We had our names picked out when we were pg and we knew that we were having 2 the same sex and they were girls
we called them Krystal Ann after me middle name Ann and Krystal because we both liked it and Storm Erin as My DH is Scottish and I love unusal names and Storm means Tempest and Erin is Peace which is just what Storm is like
I knew that first born was Krystal as her was the smallest and loss most of her birth weight in 5 days and we were worried about her and Storm was 2nd born and she came out screaming for anybody.
and was having lots of cudles with dad for the first couple of hour after birth.
I think that it is interesting how we picked our names for our babies .
Bye for now Rosie and Girls
