How are you going with the spacer & ventolin w/ Harriet? Is she ok using the mask?

Emily started hers a few days earlier then you but it hasn't seemed to have made much difference at all. She has also had a dose of steroids but that did nothing either.

They have only been sick enough to see the GP twice since leaving hosp. I cannot believe I've had to take her to the GP 5 times in 3 wks (as well as a trip to hosp in ambulance) but I hope this ends sooner rather then later. Nothing worse then seeing them struggling to breath only to vomit then continue coughing.

Have you had any better luck?

What a suprise to see my name here as a topic! It's good news for us with the Ventolin and spacer. For the first few days Harriet fought it and DH had to hold her hands while I held the mask onto her face - horrible for all of us. But suddenly one night last week she decided it was okay and now she actually wants to have her "special medicine". Eleanor looks on and claps when Harriet finishes. And she hasn't had a coughing and vomiting attack since she started. Consequently we're all feeling a lot better as we're not being woken all night with her coughing (and DH and I wondering when we're going to have to run in as she starts vomiting!).

Sorry to hear things haven't been so successful for you. We're going to see the GP again in a week or two for a review - it'll be interesting to see if she thinks we should continue.
