Hi All,

Adelaide Multiples Catch Up

Sunday 7th August - From 2pm
Where - My Place PM me for details

http://www.essentialbaby.com.au/CFForum/vi...63&Topic=185979

Hope everyone is doing well.

Jo - Sorry to hear Joe and Scarlett are not well. Hopefully Abbey doesnt get it aswell. Tayla and Jake also have colds, aswell as teething the poor bubs are not well. Good news about DH new job. I hope that you are able to tag along on some of his trips, I try to tag along on my DH trips when I can but he only does interstate ones.

Heather - How are you going? How is the m/s. I was very lucky and was not sick at all. My OB put it down to the fact that I was so sick on the IVF treatment that when I did get pregnant my body was used to it. So are you getting the 'oh my god' comments when people find out you are having twins? Are you all ready, dont the antenatal classes and have all your furniture?

Me - Tayla and Jake are well, besides colds and teething. I cant believe that they are 9 months old, it has gone so quickly. It is amazing how much they learn in this short period of time. They are both crawling and furniture walking and Jake is nearly standing unassisted. They play hide and seek with each other and chase each other around the house. It is so cute! I just sit and watch them most days with a huge smile on my face or crying because I am laughting so hard. We are really privillaged to experience being a Twin Mum. I love it!

How are all our other Adelaide multiples going?

Must go, up early tomorrow to get to the Target toy sale. Hope to do most of my shopping for Twins Birthdays and Christmas, not looking forward to the crowds so will be their bright and early at 7am opening, Yeah! (not).

Take care, hope to catch you all soon.

Ali - m/s continues. Once I get over my morning throwing up routine (usually by around 11ish) I'm pretty good for the rest of the day. My ribs are sooo painful tho. I said to my DH the other day that I just want to have ONE day of not being pregnant - just one day! One day of waking up, not feeling sick, no vomiting, no food aversions, no pain in my hips or ribs, no struggling to move off the couch, no indigestion, sleep through the night without waking up and having to move to a different position due to pain or sickness, not having to sleep with up to 8 pillows... Woe is me!!

We ordered all the baby furniture about 2 weeks ago - it'll take up to 2 mths for it to all come in. I'm having my baby shower on the 21st of Aug so I'm hoping it might arrive before then cause everyone will want to look at it.

We start antenatal classes in 2 weeks and I'm doing a couple of programs at WCH as well specifically for twins.

And, yes, have had ALL the usual comments about twins from negative to overly excited!! I have not been one of those people who are thrilled at the idea of being pregnant with twins or having twins so I also find the overly excited comments a bit annoying too (gee, I sound really mean don't I?). I think if my pregnancy hadn't been so difficult I would feel differently but it's sooo hard to go "Yay! I'm having twins" when they're causing me so much sickness and pain. The most annoying comment I get in response to my sickness and pain is the patronising "Oh, it'll alll be worth it when you hold your babies in your arms" - as if to say none of how I'm feeling now is important and the comment is usually said in a way that dismisses how unwell I've been. But the negative comments are equally annoying (I'm just never happy am I?). Just this morning, I work in a health service, we had a new Dr start today and when he heard I was pregnant with twins he straight up said "Oh! Double Trouble!!"

OK, so now I'm hogging this thread! Better go! Bye...

PS Looks like DH won't be able to come to the get together now sad.gif - he's in the Army Reserve and he's going to be away that weekend. I'm hoping I won't chicken out of coming on my own!!

Hi all,

Nice and peaceful here at the moment for a change, twins are both sleeping and have been for about 1.5 hours now so will hopefully get another 30 minutes out of them *fingerscrossed*
DD1 at Nanny's for a couple of nights and me..I'm cruising EB! I actually have even managed to do 2 loads of washing and already have a homemade lasagne in the fridge for dinner.
Twins are still a tad snotty with their colds but still generally happy enough. DH is the latest victim but I'm hoping a couple of days off work will help it pass a bit quicker him. It's been a huge week for DH and I think he is exhausted!
We went to the Target Toy Sale yesterday evening and got a few bits for the kids..but still loads more shopping to go!

Butterscotch don't you dare chicken out! Poor Ali will get paranoid about everyone bailing out otherwise!
Is DH with the 3rd/9th?

Ali - Aaaww it certainly is special to be a twin mum. Those melt your heart moments are trule Hallmark moments! How are they going with their teething now? Any sign of relief for them?

Not much else hapenning here so will sign out for now!

Jo - You GO girl wink.gif! Sounds like you're preparing for Mum and Wife of the Year award today! LOL

I will try not to chicken out coming on my own. I'm not the most outgoing type in RL when I don't know people - then once I get to know people you won't be able to get me to shut up!

DH is in 10/27

Bumping up to see if we have anymore takers for the Adelaide Multiples catch up.
Zebette
Ali,

How many have we got going at this stage? Seems that Butterscotch and I will now travel up together and I will leave my DH and DD behind for some Daddy/Daughter time.
Who else is in?

Jo
Butterscotch
Ali - do you think there would be any value in putting a post in the SA forum as well? Or do you reckon any multiples parents would come in here anyway? I dunno! Just a thought...
