So, what's everybody doing/cooking for Passover?

And if you're in the Sydney area, WHERE are you shopping? Help! This is my first Passover in Australia! I can't just walk into the corner supermarket here in the Western Suburbs, unless its all really obvious and I'm just looking in the wrong place.

I need at least one box of matzos! Do I drive into Bondi? (Which is forever away but gragh)

Hi there,

Neither observing Passover, nor in Sydney, but I thought this website might be a good resource, it seems to list various suppliers under the different product categories (scroll to the bottom of the page).

Hope that helps!

I noticed all the passover stuff in a special display last week in Woolworths in Northbridge - maybe ring a few Woolworths closer to you?

I finally - it starts tonight so I cut it waaay too fine - found matzo and matzo meal and kosher grape juice in a Coles in Lindfield. The display was almost cleaned out!

Thanks for the help, I'm so clueless out here.

Go to St Ives next time - there is a lot there.

I thought Lindfield was St. Ives? Are they next-door to each other?

No...keep going down the Pacific Highway until you get to Gordon then turn right onto Mona Vale Road. Follow Mona Vale Road until you get to the next set of shops - thats St. Ives. Its about 10-15 mins drive from Lindfield on a good traffic day. Geez...if you through Lindfield was St Ives you must have been disappointed original.gif

Ohhh.

I see what we did. It was like after six on a Sunday, since it was last night that we were even in the area and Lindfield still had stores open whereas everyone in St. Ives had apparently already snugged up in bed.

I will make my husband (poor dear) take me back to St. Ives eventually! lol

I'll rant about groceries not staying open late later.

tongue.gif I feel like that remarkably often! I live in Melbourne so lots of options out our way for shopping luckily.

To answer your other question though, have made a flourless orange cake and the haroset to contribute to tonight, planning some slow cooker stews with mash or matza during the week (easiest option we've found). Other than that we tend to subsist on compot and on Matza cheese tomato toasted, or Matza with egg dip, or even matza pizzas.

Have a good night tonight!
