Essential Baby > Conception > Trying to conceive (TTC) > Charting
simarn
Hi again, I am posting my 2nd question for today. I charted when TTC my 1st, but had consistant annovulatory charts so gave up and went IVF. But we cant afford IVF to conceive Number3, so I am trying charting again. I was happy to have a nice looking chart last cycle so am super keen for this month too.

But I have a question about how much temps are affected when getting up to teh kids in the night? Last night I was up at about 2am and I usually take my temp at 6:30am... so thats a solid 4.5hrs from having to get up. Do you think the temp still woudl have been affected? Or when do you consider teh night a total write off in regards to taking temps?

If you look at my chart for this month there are about 3 days where i didnt even bother taking my temp (it was during AF anyway so didnt care too much), but those days I was up with the kids at about 5am and 6am... so figured temps for those days would be shot for sure!!

Interested to hear from you experts!!

jorgo
yes big affect

you need atleast 3 hours solid sleep between waking and temp taking

personally i know how much i go up or down in an hour through years of temping and playing aroudn with it

as little as 15 mins can make a 0.04 difference to me so yeah significant

its not that its impossible to chart when you already have LOs it just makes it harder to interpret
